SchoolCashOnline: Now that many families have signed up for our fast, friendly and convenient online banking option, we encourage parents to regularly check to see if there are any new additions to your child’s account. If you have yet to sign up for online banking, please go to: ocsb.schoolcashonline.com to register. If you don’t see an activity you wish to pay for online, please call Kathi Zimmer in our main office with details. (KZ Feb. 27)

SKI CLUB REFUNDS:  Ski Club is now finished for this season.  If your son/daughter requires a refund for a Ski Club evening that they missed due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, please fill out the refund request form (found in the main office or on mths.ca - under News & Docs) and return it to Mr. Nearing in room 320 by Friday, March 6th for a refund.  Once your form is received, cheques will be issued, in the Parent name, within 2 weeks. Please note that only lift passes and ski rentals will be refunded. (KZ March 6)

LEGO donations: We are looking for donations of LEGO bricks and/or sets for our new grade 7/8 club.

Lego Club: A new lunch club is starting soon! The Lego Club will meet Thursdays at lunch in the Learning Commons. Any grade 7 or 8 interested in joining this club can sign up in the Learning Commons before/after school or at lunch. First meeting: Thursday, March 5th. (NBD March 4)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

White Pine: The White Pine group will meet today at lunch in the Seminar Room. See you soon! (NBD Feb 27)

Any high school student with knowledge of running the scorer's table at basketball games, and are willing to help out at 7/8 girls/boys basketball home games, are asked to speak with either Mr. Quinn or Mr. Rusch. The first home game is Tuesday March 3rd. Volunteers are needed for 6 regular season games and possible playoff games. The games run from 3:30pm until 5pmVolunteer hours can be obtained for all games. Please let us know ASAP, if you are able to help out.  (TQ March 6)

Costa Rica 2016 - Attention all adventurers who are signing up for the Costa Rica Trip next February!  The student information meeting for next year's Costa Rica trip is this Monday at lunch in room 117.  The parent information will follow in Monday, March 2nd at 6:00 pm at St, Francis Xavier High School.  If you're interested in zip lining, stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling, volcanic hot springs, hiking, and staying in a tree house, this trip is for you!  Only 12 spots available - secure your spot asap!  If you love the beach and adventures on the water, this trip is for you! The Irish Society/NCR organizes a St. Patrick’s parade each year (this year on March 14th (Saturday)) and we need volunteers (120 in fact) to help with traffic control. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Student Volunteers will receive six (6) community service hours for volunteering for the day. Volunteers should contact Mike McLaughlin at mclaugh@istar.ca for more information. (KW March 14)

Volunteers needed!  We are coordinating our annual West End Basketball League (WEBL) Midget Girls Year-end Tournament and need basketball scorekeepers and timekeepers. The event takes place at LDHS starting from Friday (April 24th) after school until Sunday (April 26th) evening.  We are looking for high school students and priority will be given to those who can commit to the whole tournament.  This is a great way to pick up a ton of volunteer hours!  For more information please contact: James Turner at vprec@nepeanbluedevils.ca (KW Apr. 24)

Prom will be held at the Sala San Marco on Preston Street on Friday May 29th from 5:30-11:00 pm. Grade 12 students are asked to sign into my.mths.ca and register their intent to attend, indicate food allergies, table preference, guest information (non-MT student) as well as vote for Prom King and Queen. At this time, each grade 12 student is allowed to purchase 1 ticket only. This can be done anytime online. During the week of April 6-10, tickets may be purchased in person at lunch, at which time guest tickets may also be purchased from your child's respective Vice-Principal and will require payment by cheque or cash ($80). Havenlea-Chapman Mills Community Association is looking for student volunteers to help with their 8th annual Winter Family Fun Day on Saturday February 14th from 11 am to 2 pm. The event will take place in  Cresthaven Park (near St. Andrew Catholic School). Students will be helping to run the carnival games and generally help people if needed. Volunteers needed!  We are coordinating our annual West End Basketball League (WEBL) Midget Girls Year-end Tournament and need basketball scorekeepers and timekeepers. The event takes place at LDHS starting from Friday (April 24th) after school until Sunday (April 26th) evening.  We are looking for high school students and priority will be given to those who can commit to the whole tournament.  This is a great way to pick up a ton of volunteer hours!  For more information please contact: James Turner at vprec@nepeanbluedevils.ca (KW Apr. 24)
