7/8 GIRLS FLOORBALL (FLOOR HOCKEY):
Try-outs on Tuesday, January 6th, 3:10 – 4:15 p.m. and Thursday, January 8th, 3:10 – 4:15 p.m. Location C/D Gym with Ms. McKenna.

7/8 BOYS FLOORBALL AND COED TCHOUKBALL: Any boys wishing to tryout for the Floorball team, please sign up on Mr. MacCuaig and Ms. McKenna's Phys Ed office door. Any boys or girls wishing to tryout for the Coed Tchoukball team, please do the same. The tryout/practice schedule is posted on the door. Tryouts begin January 7th.

TITAN CLOTHING: If your Titan clothing order included a hoodie, your order will be delivered today, in homeroom.

GRAD WRITE-UPS: Attention Grads! You can submit your grad write-up by email starting today! Information about grad write-ups is being distributed in grade 12 homerooms on Thursday and Friday. Extra copies of the handout can be found in the library and the main office. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure your write-up will be included. All grad write-ups must be received absolutely no later than Friday, January 9 at 3:05 pm. Make sure you get a confirmation email to indicate your write-up has been received.

ALPINE SKI TEAM: The dry land training session tomorrow has been cancelled. Practices will resume in the new year (first Tuesday back).

VOLUNTEER WITH CANADIAN RED CROSS: The Canadian Red Cross is launching a Youth Action Ambassador Program (YAAP) in January 2009. Their goal is to train outgoing, energetic students on global humanitarian issues (such as The Problem of Landmines & Cluster Munitions, Children in Conflict, Malaria & HIV/AIDS, Vulnerable Communities in Canada) & the international role/activities of the Red Cross Movement. Newly trained youth volunteers would act as "ambassadors" for the Red Cross in their respective schools by helping to raise awareness on important humanitarian issues. If interested, there is a YAAP information session on TODAY @ 5:30 pm at 340 Catherine St. Please RSVP to Cameron Ketchum (613-560-7220 X301 or cameron.ketchum@redcross.ca) if you plan to attend the meeting. Looking for a babysitter for two children, a boy and a girl, aged 8 and 11 with slight intellectual challenges, who live near St. Luke's elementary school. FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS: The 3rd Annual Festival of the Arts is taking place TONIGHT at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at lunch just outside the cafeteria. Bring your money down to lunch with you. Tickets cost $5 each.

Day 1 - H.S. & Day 1 - Gr. 7 & 8

NAME THAT BOOK CONTEST: Each day clues about Eric Walters' books will be given during the morning announcements. Identify the book, drop off your guess in the library and get in on a chance to win a Chapters/Indigo gift certificate.

ALPINE SKI TEAM: There will be an information meeting for all students interested in the racing TODAY, during lunch, in room 201. High school students should meet at 11:45. 7/8 students please pick up the information from Mrs. Earle in room 137 before school on Friday. The first dry land training practices will begin next week and continue every Tuesday and Thursday. The first on hill practice is Wednesday December 17 at Mt. St. Marie.

WOW! Don’t forget, Monday is your favourite day! The Parent Council will be making ice cream sundaes in the cafeteria. The price is $3.50 for a sundae or $2.00 for a dairy-free, sugar-free, gluten-free, fat-free frozen dessert. So Mondays at Mother Teresa are now Sundae Mondays. Remind you friends to bring their “Sundae money”.

BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER: We want to help in the fight against breast cancer. Starting Monday, December 1st, until Thursday December 4th a bake sale with a Christmas theme will run in the Atrium during H.S. and 7/8 lunch. All the money raised will go to the Weekend to End Breast Cancer 2009 Ottawa edition in support of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Don’t forget to bring your money! Remember everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer!

The 7/8 boys volleyball end of season celebration pizza lunch will be held TODAY, at lunch, in room 204.

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are encouraged to sign up to perform in the Third Annual Festival of the Arts - an evening of the Arts celebrating the talents of Grade 7 and 8 students. The English presentations take place at 6:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Jack Turcot University Centre at 85 University St. This year two of the presentations will be broadcast live on the internet. BABYSITTER NEEDED: A female babysitter is required on the occasional Friday and Saturday for a 6 year old girl living near Strandherd and Beatrice. See Student Services if interested.
