REMEMBRANCE DAY POSTER COMPETITION: You still have time to participate...the due date is Friday, Oct. 30th. All entries will be put on display in the display case by the cafeteria. The winner's poster will be framed and put on the Wall of Fame in the hall by the art room. REMEMBRANCE DAY - STUDENTS WITH PARENTS IN THE ARMED FORCES OR POLICE: Any student who has a parent or parents serving in the Canadian Armed Forces (army, air force or navy), or as a police officer or RCMP is asked to come to the chapel during their lunch on Monday October 5th. High school students please arrive at the chapel at 11:45 on October 5th and grade 7/8 at 12:45 on October 5th. This will be a very brief meeting, but it is important that you attend. PLEASE HELP THE NEEDY THIS THANKSGIVING: Please contribute $1 in homeroom to be distributed to individuals in need throughout our community this Thanksgiving. Our school goal is $1 per student. OTTAWA POLICE VENTURERS is a unique youth program that the police service operates in collaboration with Scouts Canada. Over the school year, youth (14-18) in high school learn about policing, volunteer in the community and are part of a dynamic team. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL STUDENTS ATTENDING THE “HOMECOMING” DANCE!!

1. Doors open at 6:45 pm. No one will be admitted early. Entry is at the side of the school ONLY.
2. There will be no re-entry. Once you leave, you are not allowed to come back in.
3. All students must carry their MT student card.
4. Guests must have their own student card from their school, or some other form of ID.
5. Guests must arrive with their MT student host.
6. ALL BAGS will be searched.
7. All coats and bags must be checked at the coat check for the entire dance.
8. Students will NOT be allowed access to their lockers.
9. Doors close at 8:30 pm. There will be no one admitted after this time (unless previous arrangements have been made).
10. Pizza and pop will be available for purchase at the dance.

GRADUATING STUDENTS/COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: A new policy surrounding Community Service Hours has been adopted at Mother Teresa High School. All graduating students must have completed their forty hours of community service by the date of the school prom if they intend to attend their graduation dance. This comes about as a result of the practice of some students who left their Community Service Hours to the last month of school and were not able to graduate in June. We are encouraging all our graduating students to submit their hours by May 14th, 2010. (NM –Sep 25)

COME CHEER ON OUR FOOTBALL TEAM! Today our Varsity Football Team has its first regular season game against Sacred Heart, here at 1:30pm. Since this is the first football game at Mother Teresa in two years and it is our only home game on a Friday afternoon throughout the regular season play, we will be having a "buy out" for all of our students, Grades 7 -12. Cost is $ 2. All high school Period Four teachers and intermediate Period Five teachers must take attendance on Friday afternoon, and only dismiss those who paid. Please send all money collected to the main office and record the names of your students who paid. We are not issuing tickets. Please do not dismiss until we make the announcement. (SD –Sep 18)
