Attention Skiers and Snowboarders:: Aren't you excited for all this snow!? Can you not wait to get out on the slopes? Looking for Math Enrichment opportunities in our community? 7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

There will be 2 tryouts for Girls Futsal. First try out will be on Tuesday, January 9th at 3:00pm in the tile floor gym. Second try out will be Tuesday January 16th in the tile floor gym. Please see Ms. Mandia if you cannot attend either tryout. (SM Jan. 16)

  • The Makerspace club is a fun club that includes crafts, Lego, knitting and so much more. This club will meet Tuesdays for Grade 7s and Thursdays for Grade 8s. 
  • Our Red Maple book club will meet every Friday at lunch. This year's club will be reading up to 10 Canadian Fiction selections selected specifically for students in grades 7 and 8. The titles have been announced and will be discussed at this week's meeting.

  • The Makerspace club is a fun club that includes crafts, Lego, knitting and so much more. This club will meet every Monday during HS lunch. 
  • Our White Pine book club will meet every Friday at lunch. This year's club will be reading up to 10 Fiction selections selected specifically for students in grades 9-12. The titles have been announced and will be discussed at this week's meeting. 
Calling all business minded students! … Are you interested in biz department news, biz club news, and opportunities galore?  (business volunteer experience, job fairs for paid jobs, lunch & learns, special in school sales, business competitions, extra seats on field trips, and more!!!! The Learning Commons Photo Booth is back! Students and staff are welcome to take a selfie in front of our Christmas tree and/or in front of our Green Screen (Seminar Room). Christmas props will be provided. Merry Christmas! (NBD Dec. 22)

LC Makerspace Christmas Cards: Our Makerspace greeting card station is back in time for Christmas. Feel free to drop by the Learning Commons to create your own card either with your teacher as a classroom activity or on your own/with your friends during lunch, before school, or during your spare. Cappies: thank you to the Cappies for doing a fantastic job on Friday night. Set up was amazingly smooth and take down quick and efficient. A shout out to the actors who helped out after their top notch performance in A Christmas Carol. (JS Dec. 22)

All High School Cross Country Runners can pick up an order form for a hoodie anytime this week.  The deadline to order is Friday, December 22nd.  The deadline to pay is January 12.  Please see Mrs. Galbraith in Room 304 to pick up the form. (MG Dec. 22)

Are you interested in participating in The Enrichment Mini-Courses Program this year May 6th- 11th?  This opportunity is for students in Gr 8 -11.  The courses take place at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, La Cite and Saint Paul's University Mon- Fri from 9 am - 3pm.  Students are responsible for their own transportation.  Courses are offered in a variety of disciplines including technology, psychology, engineering, journalism, music and law. If this opportunity interests you please pop by Rm 130 to pick up an application. Cost is $133.00.  Forms are due - DEC 22, 2017.  We have a limited number of spots and completed applications will be chosen by a lottery system.  (NC Dec. 21)
