clip_image008BADMINTON TRY-OUTS: Grade 7 & 8 boys and girls interested in playing on the intermediate badminton team are asked to sign up on the list posted on Mlle Pendergest's classroom door - room 236.  Try-outs will be held after school on January 30th and 31st (until 4:30pm).  Bring a racquet, if you have one, and bring your A game!  REACH FOR THE TOP: The High School Reach for the Top Trivia Tournament is starting again. Anyone interested in signing a team up for the lunchtime trivia challenges, please see Mr. Specht for a team sign-up sheet and have it returned by Wednesday, February 6th. (JS –Feb 6)

clip_image014NIGHT SCHOOL INFORMATION (session February 19th - May 29th) from the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is available in Student Services.  Registration details are as follows:

  • During the day from Monday, January 21st to Tuesday, February 12th at 440 Albert Street from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm

  • Evening registration is at the high school site of your course choice (Adult HS or Merivale HS) on Monday, February 11th (6:00pm -7:30pm), Tuesday, February 12th (6:00 pm - 7:30pm)

  • Registration deadline is February 12th. 

All classes are conditional to sufficient enrolment and are subject to cancellation or transfer to an alternate location. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. She chose to be named after Thérèse de Lisieux, the patron saint of missionaries, but because one nun in the convent had already chosen that name, she opted for the Spanish spelling Teresa. clip_image004BUSES DURING HIGH SCHOOL EXAMS: We would like to remind parents that during High School Exam Week, buses will be running at their normal scheduled time. There will not be a pick-up at the school at lunch when students are finished their morning exam. If students are not able to make their way home without the school bus, they are able to stay at school to wait for the 3:00 bus. Students in grade 7 & 8 will be following their normal daily schedule during High School Exam week.

·         In the event of an inclement Weather Day ONLY (i.e. Buses Cancelled), then all exams will be “bumped” a day. This means that the exam that was cancelled is written the next day, and all other exams move a day forward. Please Note: there are NO EXAMS written on Friday February 1st (P.D. Day).   Exams scheduled to be written on Thursday January 31st will be written on Monday February 4th, and the 1st day of semester 2(two) will be Tuesday February 5th. (MR –Jan 30)
