The Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science organize these lectures to give young people and their parents a dynamic and interesting view about science and engineering. NEPEAN OUTREACH TO THE WORLD (NOW) is looking to lend a hand to the small town of Tutumdara in Afghanistan. It is situated north of Kabul. Tutumdara has one high school for boys and one high school for girls. NOW is looking for volunteers in the following areas: sorting material donations for culturally appropriate items, researching info and preparing materials for presentations, developing and expanding the current website and translation and cultural awareness. GRADUATING STUDENTS/COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: A new policy surrounding Community Service Hours has been adopted at Mother Teresa High School. All graduating students must have completed their forty hours of community service by the date of the school prom if they intend to attend their graduation dance. This comes about as a result of the practice of some students who left their Community Service Hours to the last month of school and were not able to graduate in June. We are encouraging all our graduating students to submit their hours by May 14th, 2010. (NM –Dec 4)

GIS DAY AT CARLETON U: Any student currently in grade 10 or 11 who is interested in GIS is welcome to come to Carleton University next Wednesday, November 18th. If you are interested in using GPS units, Google Earth and making maps, this is for you. We are offering a course next year in GEOMATICS which explores all of these things. It is open to any student who will be in grade 11 or 12 next year (10-11 this year). Cost is $6.00 for return bus fare. See Mr. McCloskey in room 300 for a permission form if you are interested.
