clip_image002CARNIVAL DAY 2010!! The MT year-end Carnival will be happening on Wednesday June 2. It is a regular school day with an extra long lunch. For lunch, you can pay $5 for 2 slices of pizza (make sure you tell your homeroom teacher if they are pepperoni or cheese), a pop and 2 carnival tickets. You must bring your money to your homeroom teacher by Tuesday June 1 to get lunch. Carnival tickets are also available for pre-purchase in homeroom. Avoid the VERY long ticket lines and buy your tickets in advance. Tickets cost $0.50 each and most activities cost between 2 and 4 tickets. Make sure you are prepared for the fun of carnival and bring in your money today!! (NR –Jun 1)

SPIRIT WEEK!! May 31 to June 4 is the final Spirit Week of the year - and it is VERSUS week. Each day you get to choose the way you will dress! Monday - Peace & Love Vs. Rock'n Roll, Tuesday: G's Vs. Gents, Wednesday: Battle of the Grades (Gr. 12 - White, Gr. 11 - Blue, Gr. 10 - Red, Gr. 9 - Green, Gr. 8 - Purple, Gr. 7 - Yellow), Thursday: Nerds Vs. Jocks, Friday: Country Vs. Hip Hop. Show your MT spirit and dress up! (NR –Jun 4)

7/8 TRACK AND FIELD 1ST AND 2ND PLACE WINNERS: Results are posted outside of the P.E. office by the Caf Gym. All Bantam and Midget 1st and 2nd place winners will advance to the Carleton Place Track and Field Meet on Thursday June 3rd. Practices are on Tuesday May 26th *, Wednesday May 27th*, and Tuesday June 1st at lunch. High Jump & relay 12:40-1:00 PM, Shot Put & Long Jump 1:00 - 1:20. Please see Mr. Nicoletti or Mrs. McKenna for permission forms or if you cannot make the tournament. (TM –June 1)*Cancelled due to heat advisory.

MOTHER TERESA ATHLETIC BANQUET – MONDAY JUNE 7TH: Athletes and their guests are invited to attend Mother Teresa’s Athletic Banquet on Monday June 7th. Dinner is in the Atrium at 6:30 and the awards ceremony follows in the Cafeteria Gym at 7:30 PM. Tickets are FREE for all Athletes who played on varsity teams this year AND have paid their Athletic fees. Tickets are available for pick up in the Atrium at LUNCH June 1st to 3rd. Only students with tickets will be admitted! Athletes are invited to bring a student as a guest to the dinner for $13.00. Guest tickets can also be purchased in the Atrium at lunch June 1st to 3rd, for a charge of $13, which includes a Boston Pizza dinner. Show your TITAN athletic spirit and come out to the banquet.(EK –Jun 4)

ATHLETIC BANQUET SLIDE SHOW: IF you were involved with a Mother Teresa Sport this season (coach or player) and you have pictures you would like included in the end of year banquet slideshow, please submit them to Mr. Prigent by June 4. We would like to represent ALL our athletes. (DP –Jun 4)

“SKILLS FOR LIFE” is a new camp offered by CBIT Canadian Beaver Training that seeks to help teenagers from 13 to 17 year of age to develop the skills they need for the life they want. These skills include speed reading, computer skills, increased memory, better interpersonal skills, budgeting, investing and strategies to increase productivity amongst others. Come see the brochure in Student Services. If interested in obtaining more information, please contact Francis Carriere at 613 742-6800. (KW –Jun 11)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY! Are you interested in politics and do you want to learn about community issues and local government matters? POLICE SCIENCE STUDENTS! The Ottawa Police Tactical Unit has planned a visit for Semester 1 and 2 Police Science students Friday Period 4.  If you want to attend, please see Mr. Prigent Wednesday or Friday this week to get an admit slip. (DP –May 28)

EUROPEAN ENRICHMENT TRIP 2011: Could all of the students who handed in their permission forms please see Mrs. Brady (room 201) this week if you haven't already done so.  Also a waiting list is being put together for students who are still interested in going on this trip.  It is not too late! clip_image006BLOOD DONOR CLINIC: There will be a blood donor clinic in the Mother Teresa High School gym on the morning of Friday, May 28th. You must be 17 years old and a minimum of 50 kg/110 lbs to donate (see the posters displayed around the school for more donation criteria). If interested, please sign up through your homeroom teacher or with Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130. Family members are also invited to donate on May 28th (give their names to your HR teacher or Mrs. McLaughlin also). (DM –May 28)

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: June 18-20 at the Ferrari Festival.  You will be part of a team ensuring that the public do not get too close to the parked and roped off sports cars as well as helping with the Dream Ride fundraiser for charity.
