7-8 Boys Hockey: There will be a practice for Tier 1 team on February 23 @Walter Baker, from 3:00-4:30pm.

The Read-A-Thon will be taking place today for all students who returned their pledge forms and money. You are responsible for any missed work, so please do not forget to speak with your teachers. Please report to your homerooms for attendance and then come directly to the Learning Commons. Drinks and snacks are permitted, but please make sure they are nut-free. See you soon!

Red Maple: The Red Maple book club will meet at lunch on Friday, February 20th. Please do not forget to bring your completed field trip permission form and payment. (NBD Feb. 20)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

White Pine: The White Pine book club will meet at lunch on Friday, February 20th in the seminar room. If you are interested in a trip to Toronto for the Festival of Trees celebration, please be at this meeting. New members are welcome. (NBD Feb. 20)

For all students going on the Vermont Ski Trip, please remember to bring in your passport and insurance photocopies to Mr. Baldin or Ms. Earle.  How about tomorrow?? (LB Feb. 19)

Could all SR. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL players please return their uniforms to Mrs. Rennick ASAP. Also if you have outstanding fees please get them in ASAP. You all had a great season and we will try to plan a get together soon. (JR Feb. 20)

Math Enrichment:  Students in grade 9 to 11 planning to write the Waterloo Math Contest are reminded to bring $5 to their enrichment teacher BEFORE exams.  You must bring in your money to be registered to write the contest on February 24.  We will meet next on Wednesday, February 4th. (NR Feb. 24)

Nominations are now open and accepted online until 5pm on April 17, 2105 for the 2015 Youth Ottawa Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards taking place this June 4, 2015.  Winners receive a bursary ($1,000 for winners and $250 for runner-ups to be used for advancement of academics or social enterprise in line with the values of Youth Ottawa). LF a responsible student to tutor a Grade 4 boy in French, 2 to 3 times a week, either for community service hours or $.  Please contact Julie at 613-784-9922. Thank you.

Winter 2015 Night School - Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Classes run from February 18th to June 1st. Students must meet with their Guidance Counsellor to discuss course selection, complete the registration form and have a parent bring the completed/signed form to: During the day:  440 Albert St, Room E 112B, Monday, January 19th to Friday, February 6th 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. Evening Registration:  At the School Offering Your Course; Merivale HS or Adult HS Monday, February 2nd and Tuesday, February 3rd from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. (KW Feb. 18)

Driver Education Program - Winter 2015. Registration runs from January 12th to February 18th.

Forms are available in Student Services.  Classes run at Mother Teresa High School on Wednesdays from 3:15pm to 6:00pm.  First class is February 25th. (KW Feb. 18)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Volunteers needed!  We are coordinating our annual West End Basketball League (WEBL) Midget Girls Year-end Tournament and need basketball scorekeepers and timekeepers. The event takes place at LDHS starting from Friday (April 24th) after school until Sunday (April 26th) evening.  We are looking for high school students and priority will be given to those who can commit to the whole tournament.  This is a great way to pick up a ton of volunteer hours!  For more information please contact: James Turner at vprec@nepeanbluedevils.ca (KW Apr. 24)
