HS Day 2

WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Haircutting - all students participating on Thursday, please see Ms Soprovich in room 202 at lunch on Tuesday, June 13th.  Looks like we have 6 donation - half way there folks! (SS June 13)

Half way there! We now have 4 out of the 8 ponytails in order to make a wig! Still lots of time to offer to donate your hair - cutting will be on Thursday, June 15th in the atrium. Reminder that the hair cannot have been coloured, permed or bleached. See Ms. Soprovich in room 202 if interested. (SS June 15)

Lost and Found - items will be set out next Monday, June 19th in front of student services. Any items left on Friday June 23rdwill be donated to the Boys and Girls club of Barrhaven. (SS June 19)

The city of Ottawa will remove trees in the back field on June 13 & 14.  Students are encouraged to use the bikes racks at the front of the school. (MK June 14)
At the end of the day, the expectation for students who are not involved in any extracurricular activities, is that students leave the building and make their way home.  Students who wish to remain after school to watch a school sporting event, are also expected to leave immediately after the game.  Make sure transportation arrangements are made in advance.  In the future, students who are found loitering around the school at the end of the day will formally speak to an administrator. During the lunch period, no High School student is permitted on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the new wing which is the 7/8 classroom areas. (MK)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Any grade 7 or 8 students who still owes "reed" money to Mr. Card, please pay Mr. Card as soon as possible. (IC June 23)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The annual Mother Teresa Athletic Banquet will be held here next Tuesday, June 13th at 6:30 pm. We will be having a banquet dinner, followed by the Athletic Awards. High School athletes can pick up their tickets during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, or Monday from Mr. Liska at the Tuck Shop. Athletes are reminded to have all their athletic fees, team fees, and uniforms in to their coaches or their tickets will be withheld. (JL June 13)

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Driver Education Program Summer 2017.  Registration forms are now available in Student Services. Register on-line at conted.ocsb.ca, by fax 613-224-9253, by mail or in person at the Ottawa Catholic School Board, 570 West Hunt Club Road, Nepean.  ​(KW)
Summer School Registration forms from the Ottawa Catholic School Board are now available in Student Services. Registration period is from May 1 to June 28.   Final registration date is Wednesday, June 28, from 9am to 1pm at St. Nicholas Adult High School (West Campus) 893 Admiral Avenue. Forms must be completed/signed by student and parent and then approved by a Student Services counsellor.   Summer school locations are Holy Trinity HS, Immaculata HS, St. Pius X HS and L.B. Pearson HS.  L.B. Pearson has online courses only. (KW)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Monsignor Paul Baxter School looking for volunteers. Here are the details of the event.
Date: June 23rd 2017
Time: 5pm - 8:00pm
Hours: 3 hrs in total 
How many kids: we are looking for 40+ volunteers. 
Brief description: Volunteers will be helping with the different activities that we have, such as overseeing the kids at the inflatables and different activity stations
June 26th - 2pm - 4pm.  I will need volunteers to help decorate the gym for the MPB Leaving Ceremony
June 27th - 8:30am - Noon.  I will need a couple of volunteers to help with the MPB Leaving Ceremony.  Serving cake and drinks, clean-up and take down of decorations.

Community Service Opportunity. Senior Citizen living in our area is looking to have someone mow their lawn.  She is also willing to pay if necessary.  Please call Linda at 613 440-4142.  Thank you. (KW June 29)

LF Volunteers: We are having a Food Truck Rally Event in Manotick , June 24th 2017, 11am-4pm. There will be 8 food trucks, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Ice cream, Texan, pizza, seafood, desserts... Children's bouncy castle, Princess Manicures ( polish only), balloons, tattoo parlour...We are looking for volunteers to help with the event and would love to have some students come out help us for a family and fun day! In return we can give the students volunteer hours. Every student will be given a token for 2 beverages and 1 token for a food order.

2 balloon helpers: will be working with a helium tank.Duties include; blowing up balloons and tying on a string for children. Must be energetic, responsible and good around children. 20 mins break for snacks
2 Tattoo Parlor Assistants: Duties include; placing a fake tattoo on child's arm or face using water. Must be energetic, responsible and good around children. 20 mins break for snacks.
2 bouncy castle assistants: Duties include; children guidance going in and out of the bouncy castle and mini slide attached. Parents will be there as well.  20 mins break for snacks.
2 polish assistants: Duties include; polishing nails for princesses. 20mins break for snacks

LF Volunteers  for the Hydro Ottawa’s 2017 United Way Family Fun Day! (KW June 16)
When: June 17, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Four Seasons Park on Spratt Road in Riverside South
While the event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., we’re looking for volunteers who are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help with both the setup and takedown and take part in various activities such as face painting, a bouncy castle, a petting zoo and more. Alternatively, you may choose to volunteer for a half-day.
