HS Day 1

WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Haircutting - all students participating on Thursday, please see Ms Soprovich in room 202 at lunch on Tuesday, June 13th.  Looks like we have 6 donation - half way there folks! (SS June 13)

Half way there! We now have 4 out of the 8 ponytails in order to make a wig! Still lots of time to offer to donate your hair - cutting will be on Thursday, June 15th in the atrium. Reminder that the hair cannot have been coloured, permed or bleached. See Ms. Soprovich in room 202 if interested. (SS June 15)

The city of Ottawa will remove trees in the back field on June 13 & 14.  Students are encouraged to use the bikes racks at the front of the school. (MK June 14)

At the end of the day, the expectation for students who are not involved in any extracurricular activities, is that students leave the building and make their way home.  Students who wish to remain after school to watch a school sporting event, are also expected to leave immediately after the game.  Make sure transportation arrangements are made in advance.  In the future, students who are found loitering around the school at the end of the day will formally speak to an administrator. During the lunch period, no High School student is permitted on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the new wing which is the 7/8 classroom areas. (MK)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Red Maple club will be meeting at the start of lunch in the Learning Commons on Monday, June 12th to plan the Red Maple celebration. Please bring your lunch. (NBD June 12)

7 &8 Track and Field Team: All students who qualified for the 7&8 Track and Field Event, please note that we will have 3 practices after school : Monday, June 5th, Wednesday, June 7th, and Monday, June 12th. See you in the Courtyard at 3:00 pm. (KM June 12)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

The annual Mother Teresa Athletic Banquet will be held here next Tuesday, June 13th at 6:30 pm. We will be having a banquet dinner, followed by the Athletic Awards. High School athletes can pick up their tickets during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, or Monday from Mr. Liska at the Tuck Shop. Athletes are reminded to have all their athletic fees, team fees, and uniforms in to their coaches or their tickets will be withheld. (JL June 13)

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Driver Education Program Summer 2017.  Registration forms are now available in Student Services. Register on-line at conted.ocsb.ca, by fax 613-224-9253, by mail or in person at the Ottawa Catholic School Board, 570 West Hunt Club Road, Nepean.  ​(KW)
Summer School Registration forms from the Ottawa Catholic School Board are now available in Student Services. Registration period is from May 1 to June 28.   Final registration date is Wednesday, June 28, from 9am to 1pm at St. Nicholas Adult High School (West Campus) 893 Admiral Avenue. Forms must be completed/signed by student and parent and then approved by a Student Services counsellor.   Summer school locations are Holy Trinity HS, Immaculata HS, St. Pius X HS and L.B. Pearson HS.  L.B. Pearson has online courses only. (KW)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Monsignor Paul Baxter School looking for volunteers. Here are the details of the event.

Time: 5pm - 8:00pm
Hours: 3 hrs in total 
How many kids: we are looking for 40+ volunteers. 
Brief description: Volunteers will be helping with the different activities that we have, such as overseeing the kids at the inflatables and different activity stations. Contact information: Crystal Lafleche  text. 613-282-5994

 LF Volunteers  for the Hydro Ottawa’s 2017 United Way Family Fun Day! (KW June 16)
When: June 17, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Four Seasons Park on Spratt Road in Riverside South
While the event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., we’re looking for volunteers who are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help with both the setup and takedown and take part in various activities such as face painting, a bouncy castle, a petting zoo and more. Alternatively, you may choose to volunteer for a half-day.
