Here's more info on the organization and why we are supporting this worthy cause: Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation presents the Inside Ride, Canada’s first indoor cycling challenge and fundraising event dedicated to raising monies in support of families and children with cancer. Support will be provided where the needs are greatest, including funding of oncology camps, community support programmes, research scholarships and other areas which contribute to inspiring hope and improving prognoses for children and their families impacted by cancer. clip_image006 CHOIR PRACTICE FOR OPEN HOUSE PERFORMANCES: All choir members please come to room 119 at lunch on Monday, May 5th and Tuesday, May 6th. Final practice before the performances is on Thursday May 8th at 8:15 am in Mr. Currie's room 119. Students must see Ms. Soprovich during one of these practices to be included in the choir list. MINI-ENRICHMENT: Students attending mini-enrichment courses (May 5th - May 9th) are reminded to access the website for information on the Orientation Sessions which occur on either Saturday May 3rd or Sunday May 4th. (DM –May 2)

clip_image010 BLOOD DONOR CLINIC: There will be a blood donor clinic at Mother Teresa High School (wood floor gym) on Friday, May 9th. You must be a minimum of 17 years old to donate blood.  If you didn't sign up in your homeroom, please see Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130 to make an appointment. (DM May 9)

Those students who indicated on their option sheets that they would be interested in Dual Credit, please check the list to ensure your name is there. (TC May 12)

TO ALL CHEERLEADERS ON THE MT CHEER SQUAD. Here is the schedule of practices from now until the end of the school year. April 28, May 5, May 12, May 18, May 25, June 2, June 9, June 16. It has been difficult to get gym time and balance my allotted time. Please note that we need the entire team to be there in order to get the most of practice. ***I also need fees and uniforms from cheerleaders that have not paid or have left the team.**** (JR –May 2)

clip_image026VOLUNTEERS – OTTAWA CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL: The Ottawa Children’s Festival is looking for volunteers.  Register online at ottawachildrensfestival.ca. The festival takes place May 9-May 14, 2014, Lebreton Flats Park.  Lots of volunteer positions such as box office and information agent, set up, greeter, site host, site maintenance, traffic control, ushers, 4Cats art studio, face painting, petting zoo, circus workshops and floaters.  Information flyer available in Student Services. WALK SO KIDS CAN TALKclip_image028: Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 4, 2014 for the annual Walk so Kids Can Talk; Canada's largest walk for child and youth mentalhealth, which kicks off Mental Health Week in Canada each year. EXPLORE is a five-week language-immersion course (spring or summer). Participants live in a student residence on campus or with a homestay family whose members speak French.  Participants in Explore receive a $2,200 bursary that covers tuition fees for the course, meals, accommodations, workshops, but the bursary does not cover other necessary costs such as registration fee ($225 non-refundable and payable only if you receive a bursary), travel costs, optional activities, spending money.  See brochures in Student  Services. clip_image032ABORIGINAL YOUTH CREATIVE WRITING AWARD.  The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration is looking for submissions for the James Bartleman Aboriginal Youth Creative Writing Award.  Creative writing pieces may include short stories, poems, essays, plays, songs or even comic strips.  Recipients will receive a cash award of $2,500 each. Graduation Ceremony tickets: The Graduation Ceremony will take place at Mother Teresa HS on Thursday June 26 from 1:00 - 3:00pm. Please note that each graduate will be given 2 tickets for guests. Students can request extra tickets by signing up in Student Services between Thursday May 1st and Friday May 23. No extra tickets can be requested after May 23. Students will be informed exactly how many extra tickets they will receive shortly there after. (JH May 23)

1) School Letter Application deadline is Thursday May 8

2) OSAP workshop - Monday May 12 - please sign up in Student Services by Friday May 9

3) Please check that the marks on OUAC & OCAS are accurate.

4) In order to attend the Prom your Community Service hours must be completed by Friday May 23 (JH May 23)

An OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) representative will be here on Monday. May 12th at 1:35 to assist students with the OSAP process. Please sign up in Student Services this week if you plan to attend. Check out their website ( osap.gov.on.ca ) and have your questions ready! (TC May 12)
