Day 2 – H.S. & Day 2 - Gr. 7 & 8
HIGH SCHOOL GENERAL STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING: Our first General Council Meeting is this morning at 9:05 am. Homeroom teachers are asked to send students to the library seminar room after the announcements. If your homeroom rep. is absent, please send someone in their place to obtain the information to bring back to your homeroom.
SCHOOL CHEER COMPETITION: High school homerooms are asked to send a written copy of your cheer to the meeting with your homeroom rep. One additional person from the class is welcomed to present the cheer to the judges. 7/8 homerooms are asked to send a maximum of two (2) representatives to the main part of the library with the written version of the cheer. Each homeroom will present their cheer to the judges. They will then return to their classes. Thank you to all homerooms participating in the cheer competition!!
NOTICE FOR GR. 7 & 8: Grade 7 and 8 students receiving Hep B and HPV vaccines are reminded that the immunization clinic will take place on Thursday, September 20. Students should make sure that they eat a good breakfast that morning, and they may want to pack an extra snack for later in the day.
ATTENTION 7/8 STUDENTS: The music room will not be open TODAY at lunch, however, it will be open on Thursday for any student wanting to practice.
7/8 JUNIOR BAND MEMBERS: A reminder that there is a practice for all 7/8 students wishing to join the band who play trumpet, trombone, euphonium and percussion on Thurday after school.
PROGRAM NIGHT REMINDER: All students are asked to remind their parents about our Program Night which is taking place here at the school on Thursday, September 20 from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.
LIBRARY CLOSURE: The library will be closed on Thursday from 7:30 am until high school lunch due to the vaccination clinic.
WANT TO BE A TUTOR: We are looking for student tutors. If you are in Gr. 9 - 12 and are interested in being a tutor this year, please pick up a registration form in Student Services. We are especially looking for tutors in Math for all grades, 7 to 12. Tutors are paid $8.00 an hour. Most tutoring is done after school from 3:15 to 4:15. If you filled in a form to be a tutor last year, you must re-register again this year.
LIVE IT UP: Another year of exciting activities begins! New & returning members of Live It Up are invited to our first meeting TODAY at lunch (11:45 am) in room 209. We will be planning activities for the Terry Fox Run next week.
CARLETON U. PRESENTATION: Carleton University will be coming to Mother Teresa H.S. TODAY at 10:20, in the Library. Gr. 12 students intending to go to the presentation must report to their period 2 class prior to going to the Library.
HIGH SCHOOL CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING: Cross country running practice is cancelled for Thursday, September 20th. (7:15 am)
STRATFORD FESTIVAL 2007: This is a reminder to the students going on the Stratford trip this Oct. 2, 3 and 4, that the first of the two after school workshops is this Thursday in room 300 , 3:15-4 pm. All students are expected to attend to receive important trip information.
LOOKING FOR TUTOR: Looking for a Grade 11/12 student to tutor a Grade 3 student (Monsignor Paul Baxter School) in French once or twice a week. Please call Samantha @ 823-3384.
TERRY FOX WALK: Titans, get out and fundraise for the Terry Fox walk! Pledge forms and money are due Wednesday, September 26th and the actual Terry Fox walk is Friday, September 28th. Come on Mama T - fundraise, fundraise, fundraise! Extra pledge forms are available in Student Services.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY: St. Patrick's Harvest Dinner is this coming Sunday, September 23. 4 volunteers are required between 4 pm – 6 pm and 4 volunteers are required between 6 pm-8 pm. Please contact Nora Burnett for details at 613-825-2049.
