Day 1 – H.S. & Day 3 - Gr. 7 & 8
SPIRIT WEEK!! The first Spirit week of the school year is September 24-28. Student council will be checking homerooms each morning to record the number of students participating in spirit activities. Remember that the winning homerooms enjoy fabulous prizes!!
Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is What Not To Wear Day, Wednesday is Celebrity Look-a-Like Day, Thursday is Titan Pride Day, and Friday is the Terry Fox Run/Walk and Battle of the Grades (Gr. 7 - Yellow, Gr. 8 - Green, Gr. 9 - Red, Gr. 10 - Blue, Gr. 11 - White, Gr. 12 - Black).
Also on Friday, after the Terry Fox Run/Walk is our welcome BBQ and fun activities. Play Tug-of War or Dodge Ball, dance with DDR, and survive the obstacle course! We have even arranged for a few celebrities to join us! So let's go MT!! Show your SPIRIT!!
7/8/ GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Tryouts for the girls Volleyball team will be held this Monday from 3:15 to about 4:30 in the cafeteria gym. You must have signed up to be present (sign up sheets are in front of the phys. ed. offices). Talk to Mr. Bouchard if you wish to tryout but you can't make it on Monday.
7/8 JUNIOR BAND MEMBERS: A reminder that there is a practice for all 7/8 students wishing to join the band who play trumpet, trombone, euphonium and percussion on TODAY after school.
PROGRAM NIGHT REMINDER: All students are asked to remind their parents about our Program Night which is taking place here at the school TONIGHT from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.
LIBRARY CLOSURE: The library will be closed on TODAY from 7:30 am until high school lunch due to the vaccination clinic.
YEARBOOK PHOTOGRAPHERS: Interested in being a Yearbook Photographer? Then get ready to capture the fun of Spirit Week and show the Yearbook Club what you can do. Come to a quick meeting after school TODAY at 3:05 in Room 103 for more details. Are you looking to help out with Yearbook in other ways? Then stay tuned for information about a meeting next week.
PEER HELPERS: Please check the list posted in the window outside Student Services for those to attend Friday's meeting.
CARLETON U. PRESENTATION: Door prize winners at yesterday’s Carleton University presentation were: Jesse Ambridge, Rochana Kaushik and Jae-Ho Lee. Thanks to all who submitted the forms. Carleton will be mailing out information to you in the near future. Next presentation is Tuesday, September 25 at 9:05 when University of Ottawa will be here.
WANT TO BE A TUTOR: We are looking for student tutors. If you are in Gr. 9 - 12 and are interested in being a tutor this year, please pick up a registration form in Student Services. We are especially looking for tutors in Math for all grades, 7 to 12. Tutors are paid $8.00 an hour. Most tutoring is done after school from 3:15 to 4:15. If you filled in a form to be a tutor last year, you must re-register again this year.
STRATFORD FESTIVAL 2007: This is a reminder to the students going on the Stratford trip this Oct. 2, 3 and 4, that the first of the two after school workshops is TODAY in room 300 , 3:15-4 pm. All students are expected to attend to receive important trip information.
LOOKING FOR TUTOR: Looking for a Grade 11/12 student to tutor a Grade 3 student (Monsignor Paul Baxter School) in French once or twice a week. Please call Samantha @ 823-3384.
TERRY FOX WALK: Titans, get out and fundraise for the Terry Fox walk! Pledge forms and money are due Wednesday, September 26th and the actual Terry Fox walk is Friday, September 28th. Come on Mama T - fundraise, fundraise, fundraise! Extra pledge forms are available in Student Services.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY: St. Patrick's Harvest Dinner is this coming Sunday, September 23. 4 volunteers are required between 4 pm – 6 pm and 4 volunteers are required between 6 pm-8 pm. Please contact Nora Burnett for details at 613-825-2049.
