WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Writing Contest: Short story and personal essay submissions for the Speaker's Award for Youth Writers are now being accepted from September 30-November 6. There are awards at all levels: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12.  More information and an on-line application are available atdiscoveryportal@ontla.on.ca (JS Oct. 16)

Vimy 2017 (Grades 8-11) Information meeting on London, Paris and Vimy trip will take place Tuesday, October 6th at the beginning of HS lunch and again at 7-8 lunch in Student Services. (MP Oct. 6)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS:

RED MAPLE Club: is meeting Friday Oct.2nd in the LC seminar rm. Bring a friend. (MP Oct. 2)

Boys Flag Rugby Practice: will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday after school this week.  Please bring cleats and water.  Be ready to start warm up at 3:00pm! (JD Oct. 2)

Looking for a place to work on your math homework?  How about working with a math teacher and getting some additional practice/ support?  Need more of a challenge in math?  Math Munchers is back!  Bring your lunch to room 237 Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  Please get a pass from your math teacher to attend. HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Senior Boys' Basketball team tryouts will take place on the following dates:

Tuesday, October 20th 2015 @ 4:30 PM - wood floor gym

Thursday, October 22nd 2015 @ 4:30 PM - wood floor gym

All interested boys' must attend these tryouts - if you have any questions see Mr. Rowley in Room 136. (MR Oct. 22)

Cappies 2015-2016: Please see Mrs. Simpson in room 138 today to pick up a parental authorization form. These must be submitted to the Cappies organizers this week. You cannot participate in the program without it. Thank you. (JS Oct. 2)

Curling Team: There will be an information meeting for all students (male or female) interested in participating in the high school curling teams this year.  The meeting will be at 11:30am on Tuesday, October 6th in the Dance Studio.  All students who want to be considered for try-outs MUST attend.  Please see Mrs. Donaghy or Mrs. Robinson if you have any questions. Business Competition! Compete in the annual High School Perfect Pitch Competition held at Ottawa University on October 28th.  Help us defend our title!  (Mother Teresa students have won four years running!!!)  Get more info and pick up your permission form in room 216 or 213. STUDENT SERVICES

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Driver Education Registration forms are now available in Student Services. Sign up quickly as class sizes are limited.  Classes start at MTHS on Wednesday, October 21st from 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm.  Students must be at least 16 years of age and have a G1 license prior to October 19, 2015. Fee is $673.48 You may register online at www.fallconnections.com or by mailing/dropping off the registration form to the Continuing Education Department (570 West Hunt Club Road) or by calling 613-228-3338 to register with VISA or MasterCard. Carleton University is coming to visit our school on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, location TBD. (KW Oct. 14)

Lakehead University will be visiting our school on November 18, 2015 at 2:45 pm.  Location TBD. (KW Nov. 18)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
