7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Red Maple Reading Club Gr.7/8 Coming soon to MT: First meeting Friday Sept. 25th Library Learning Commons (bring your lunch). (MP Sept. 25)

Boys Flag Rugby practice is Friday September 25th at 3:00pm.  Please bring cleats and water.  (JD Sept. 25)

Looking for a place to work on your math homework?  How about working with a math teacher and getting some additional practice/ support?  Need more of a challenge in math?  Math Munchers is back!  Bring your lunch to room 237 Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  Please get a pass from your math teacher to attend. (JD Oct. 2)

7-8 Girls Volleyball: All 7-8 girls interested in trying out for this year's volleyball team are asked to sign up outside room 332 before Friday of this week. Tryouts will be held Tuesday September 30 and Wednesday October 1, from 3-4pm in the Caf. gym. (JB Oct. 1)

7/8 Cross- Country Running: Grade 7/8 cross-country try-outs have started.  We are practicing Monday, Tuesday and Thursday after school.  Make sure you've signed up on the list outside Mme Kinloch's classroom.  The meet is October 1st. (JK Oct. 1)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Last date to hand in money and permission forms for the spring NYC trip is Monday, September 28th before 9AM - only 10 spots remain. (MR Sept. 28)

Any grade 9 and 10 boys interested in playing Junior boys soccer are invited to come to tryouts this Thursday and Friday at 3 on the field across the street. Please see Mrs. Pari (room 318) if you have any questions. (AP Sept. 25)

For all grade 11 and 12 students who were and are enrolled in the Ancient History course in second semester, there is an important meeting next Tuesday (September 29) at lunch in room 304.  It is regarding this year's field trip to Toronto.  The trip is open to all students who took the Ancient history course last year as well as those students enrolled for second semester of this year.  Please see Mrs. Galbraith for more information. Student Tutors: Want to share what you've learned? If you are interested in tutoring another MT student, please pick up an application form in Student Services.  You can earn $10 an hour or earn community service hours. (MP Sept. 30)

HS Cross Country Running: All High Cross Country Runners are reminded to pick up their permission forms and to make payments BEFORE next Thursday's meet. There will be an important meeting for ALL runners on FRIDAY (Sept.25) AT LUNCH in room 304.  Please see Mrs. Galbraith if you are unable to make it.  Important information regarding next week's meet will be given. STUDENT SERVICES

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Driver Education Registration forms are now available in Student Services. Sign up quickly as class sizes are limited.  Classes start at MTHS on Wednesday, October 21st from 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm.  Students must be at least 16 years of age and have a G1 license prior to October 19, 2015. Fee is $673.48 You may register online at www.fallconnections.com or by mailing/dropping off the registration form to the Continuing Education Department (570 West Hunt Club Road) or by calling 613-228-3338 to register with VISA or MasterCard. Carleton University is coming to visit our school on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, location TBD. (KW Oct. 14)

Lakehead University will be visiting our school on November 18, 2015 at 2:45 pm.  Location TBD. (KW Nov. 18)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

If there are other students interested in volunteering at the Harvest Dinner at St. Patrick's Parish in Fallowfield this coming Sunday, please see Mrs. Watkinson today.  For those of you who have already signed up, please confirm with Mrs. Watkinson that you are still available this coming Sunday, September 27th.
