WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Now that many families have signed up for our fast, friendly and convenient online banking option, we encourage parents to regularly check to see if there are any new additions to your child’s account. If you have yet to sign up for online banking, please go to: ocsb.schoolcashonline.com to register. If you don’t see an activity you wish to pay for online, please call Kathi Zimmer in our main office with details. (KZ Feb. 20)

Bake Sale: The Outdoor Club will have a bake sale at lunch Tuesday February 3, 2015 in the Atrium by the chapel. Please support the Outdoor Club and have a delicious treat at the same time. This will take place during both lunches. (MF Feb. 3)

Change to Ski Club Bus Lists: A NEW bus list will be posted in the Atrium near the Co-op Showcase on Monday, February 2nd. If you are on the current list, there is a good chance your bus number will change. If your name is not on the list, please see Mrs. Morency in Room 213. (KN/SM Feb. 2)

(7-12) Alpine Ski Team:  Our first race of the season is Tuesday, February 3rd at Mont Cascades.  The bus leaves MTHS at 7 am and should be back at the school by 4pm. Please see Mrs. Brady (room 201) if you are unable to attend this race. (AB Feb. 3)

IN THE LEARNING COMMONS:

Unfortunately, there will be no grade 7/8 clubs this week, however, the Learning Commons will remain open during the 7/8 lunch. Do not forget to sign up for passes.

Tuesday: HS Animanga Club is meeting in the Seminar Room during HS Lunch.

The Learning Commons will be closed after school for a meeting.

PROM FASHION SHOW 2015: Please go to SchoolCash Online available on the Mother Teresa website and purchase MTHS Prom Fashion Show tickets. $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. All are welcome! Lunch sales will be February 2, 3,4th 2015. Online sales end February 2, 2015. Tickets will also be available at the door. Come see our students model gorgeous long and short dresses from MerryMarry: DRESSES FOR WEDDING, EVENING AND PROM, as well as formal wear from Moores Clothing for Men.  Get ideas for corsages and boutonnieres from Valley Flowers. Talk to a representative from Premier Limo about renting a stretch limo for your big event. (JR Feb. 4)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Grade 7-8 Valentine’s Dance:

Friday February 13th from 1:15 to 2:35 pm in the Caf. gym

Purchase your 2$ entry fee in homeroom as of Wednesday February 4th.

Online payment option available at mths.ca  (opens Monday February 2nd and closes Wednesday February 11th)

Is the Valentine’s Day Dance not your thing?  No worries!  The library will be available free of charge for alternative activities (e.g., computer time, study hall - maybe you want to get a head start on your homework for the weekend?, watch a movie, etc. (EM Feb 13)

Grade 7/8 Badminton Update (JK Feb. 5)

The practice on Tuesday February 3rd is for grade 8 players ONLY.  We have half of the cafeteria gym so only these players should report to practice from 3:00 - 4:15.

This list is not final!  There are only 8 spots on the grade 8 team.

The Practice on Thursday February 5th is for grade 7 players ONLY.  Please check the list outside of Mme Kinloch's classroom, room 232, to see if your name is on the list.

Attention all 7/8 students. The Canal Winterfest relay race is next Wed. Feb. 4. on the Canal.  Mr. Quinn needs 10 really fast female skaters, and 10 really fast male skaters.  Priority will be given to those who haven't made a team. Students who have made a team will be placed on a waiting list.  If spots don't fill up, the roster will be filled by the students on the waiting list. Priority comes to those who see me first. 7-8 School Play: The rehearsals for the 7-8 school play are as follows:

Wednesday February 11: Scene 4 on stage from 3:00-4:00pm

Friday February 13: Scene 5 on stage from 3:00-4:00pm

All rehearsals are mandatory, you must let Mme. Beraldin know if you cannot attend. (JB Feb.13)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS


Attention all Peer Helpers, there will be an important meeting on Tuesday, February 3 at lunch in room 302.  The meeting will begin precisely at 11:30 am.  It is critical that all peer helpers attend to learn about semester 2's important dates and events. (MB Feb. 3)

Any grade 9 or 10 boy interested in trying out for the Jr. Boys Volleyball team is asked to sign up outside gym A/B, and to attend a tryout Wednesday morning starting at 7:30am. Please be prompt; (KB Feb. 11)

Math Enrichment:  Reminder to all students involved in math enrichment of our next gathering on Wednesday, February 4th during high school lunch.  Also this is the last call for all students interested in writing the Waterloo Math Contest for grades 9 to 11, that you must bring your $5 to the correct teacher leader by Wednesday. (NR Feb. 4)

High School Schedules for Semester 2: All students from grade 9 -12 must check their schedules on my.mths.ca. There has been a number of changes including teachers, rooms, etc. If you are using the MTHS App, you will need to log out and back in to refresh. (JH Jan. 30)

Math Enrichment:  Students in grade 9 to 11 planning to write the Waterloo Math Contest are reminded to bring $5 to their enrichment teacher BEFORE exams.  You must bring in your money to be registered to write the contest on February 24.  We will meet next on Wednesday, February 4th. (NR Feb. 24)

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Mount Allison University is hosting a winter reception on Thursday, February 12, 7pm to 9pm, at the Ottawa Centurion Centre at 170 Colonnade Rd. Driver Education Program - Winter 2015. Registration runs from January 12th to February 18th.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Volunteers needed!  We are coordinating our annual West End Basketball League (WEBL) Midget Girls Year-end Tournament and need basketball scorekeepers and timekeepers. The event takes place at LDHS starting from Friday (April 24th) after school until Sunday (April 26th) evening.  We are looking for high school students and priority will be given to those who can commit to the whole tournament.  This is a great way to pick up a ton of volunteer hours!  For more information please contact: James Turner at vprec@nepeanbluedevils.ca (KW Apr. 24)

Pay your $80 grad fee at mths.ca or in Room 130 now. Grad gown sizing is taking place in Room 130 at lunch or during your spare. (MP Feb. 12)
