In the Learning Commons

Wednesday: The Learning Commons will be closed from 9-11am this morning as we welcome a group from CPCO to do some filming.  Please plan accordingly for sending students to pick up technology for classes this morning.

Grade 7/8 Photo Club will be meeting during 7/8 Lunch

Thursday:  Tinker Club is cancelled today.  We will resume meeting again on November 20th.  We will be meeting in the Seminar Room during 7/8 Lunch

7-8 Girls Volleyball Schedule:

Practice: Tuesday October 28 @7:15am

Game: Tuesday October 28th @St-Joe's

Practice: Wednesday October 29th @3;00-4:30pm

Game: Thursday October 30th @ MT

Grade 7/8 Photo Club will be meeting in the Learning Commons today (wednesday) from 12:40-1:00 to share ideas and photos. Permission forms will be available for pick up. Next assignment:  Silhouettes. (HL Oct. 29)

ATTENTION ALL 7-8 Students… Halloween Dance is Friday, October 31st    from 1:20 to 2:50 in the Cafeteria Gym.  Cost is $2 per student. Is the Halloween Dance not your thing? Fret not!   The library will be available for alternative activities (e.g., computer time, study hall - maybe you want to get a head start on your homework for the weekend?, watch a movie, etc.) No charge for entry to the library.  Please see homeroom representative for more information. HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention all History on Film Club members.  This month's meeting has been postponed to Wednesday November 5 and Thursday November 6.  The movie will be Schindler's List.  Could all Grade 9 and 10 students in the Film Club please pick up a special permission form on Thursday at lunch in room 304. THRIVE: (bible study) gathers every Wednesday in the chapel. If you would like to join we start at 11:40. Grab your lunch first and meet us in the chapel today. (LD Oct. 29)

Wednesday November 5th is Take Our Kid To Work Day. All grade 9 students spend the day in the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer experiencing and learning about the world of work as

they begin to explore possible career paths. (KN Nov. 4)

Grade 11/12 Biology Competition Club - Meeting on Wed Oct 29 at lunch in room 202. See Ms. Soprovich if you are unable to attend. (SS Oct. 29)

Any Grade 11 or 12 student interested in learning more about opportunities in the Canadian Military are to sign up in Student Services. The presentation will take place November 24, 2014 @ 10:10 in the Multi Purpose room. (JR Nov. 24)

Belize 2015 - Attention all adventurers who are signing up for the Belize Trip this April 2015!  The participant registration forms are in!  Come and pick up your form from Mrs. Ragaisis in the PE office.  Only 10 spots available - secure your spot asap!  If you love the beach and adventures on the water, this trip is for you! Canadian Education Exchange Foundation - Information evening for interested parents and students taking place Thursday, November 27th, 2014 at 7:30 pm at 440 Albert Street, Ottawa (Former Tech HS building)  Room C115. (KW Nov. 27)

LF French Tutor (immersion) for a grade 6 boy attending St. Luke elementary school. Looking for help once a week to start.  If interested, please contact Mr. Kay at 613-823-8482. Thank you.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:


LF for volunteers to work with children at activity stations on Saturday, December 6th (Manotick Family Christmas Party) at the Manotick United Church from1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.  You must provide your own transportation to and from the church.  Please contact Laurel Slattery or Donna Ouellette at 613-692-4625. Grade 12's: A reminder the University PINs are in. Students with 6 Grade 12 U level courses can now apply to university. Please pick up the envelopes in Student Services. (JH Oct. 31)

Attention all Grade 12 Students.  It's graduation portrait time from Monday, November 17th to Thursday, November 20th. Friday, November 21st is a PD day so no school/appointments. 

Book your appointment online.  Go to www.bookmygrad.ca.  Our school code is MTH.  Select a session type, day and time.  Fill out your contact information.  Your student number is required to schedule an appointment.  Pay online with Paypal or bring your session fee to the camera at the time of your sitting.  Cash or cheque only. Check your email for confirmation that your appointment was successfully booked. (KW Nov. 17)

Algonquin College's Open House is taking place Thursday, November 6th.  There are a limited number of seats available, so the first 45 signed permission forms that are returned will be able to attend.  Please pick-up the permission forms in Student Services today. (MP Nov. 6)
