Remember that lunch passes are available to Grade 8 students on Mondays and Wednesdays, Grade 7 students on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Grade 7 & 8 students on Fridays.
EDUCATION WEEK SPIRIT ACTIVITIES! May 5 – 9
Monday is Rainbow Day, so dress up in bright colours.
Tuesday is Multicultural Clothing Day.
Wednesday is the Inside Ride, so dress to support your team or a friend’s team.
BLOOD DONOR CLINIC: There will be a blood donor clinic at Mother Teresa High School (wood floor gym) on Friday, May 9th. You must be a minimum of 17 years old to donate blood. If you didn't sign up in your homeroom, please see Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130 to make an appointment. (DM May 9)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS 
7-8 boys softball: all boys interested In playing on the softball team are asked to please sign up outside room 332 Friday, May 9th and Monday, May 12. (JB May 12)
7/8 PADDLE BALL: Any 7/8 boys or girls interested in trying out for the Mother Teresa Paddle Ball AAA Competitive Team are asked to sign up outside room 333. If you were a member of the volleyball, basketball or touch-football teams, you are not permitted to try out. (KS May 9)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
ATTENTION STUDENTS WHO HAVE REGISTERED FOR CO-OP NEXT YEAR! Co-op interview appointment slips will be given to homeroom teachers throughout the month of May. If you have handed in your application form, then you will be given a co-op interview over the next month. Please inform your parents of your interview and keep the appointment slip in a secure place. If you have a scheduling conflict please see Mrs. O’Sullivan to re-schedule. If you miss your interview you will be re-scheduled for a later date. (MO –May 9)
DUAL CREDIT COURSES: Any student in grade 10 or 11 interested in learning more about Dual Credits for next year, please come to Student Services this week to sign up for a presentation on Monday, May 12th at 1:00. Those students who indicated on their option sheets that they would be interested in Dual Credit, please check the list to ensure your name is there. (TC May 9)
LEADERSHIP CAMP LEADERS: Any grade 11 student, with previous leadership camp experience, interested in being a team leader at camp next September please pick up an information package in Student Services. (EB May 30)

ABORIGINAL YOUTH CREATIVE WRITING AWARD. The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration is looking for submissions for the James Bartleman Aboriginal Youth Creative Writing Award. Creative writing pieces may include short stories, poems, essays, plays, songs or even comic strips. Recipients will receive a cash award of $2,500 each. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! FUN GUARANTEED! Canada Day in Barrhaven runs exclusively on volunteer power. We are looking for volunteers to help out before, during and after the event. We are looking for responsible, enthusiastic, energetic individuals that want to come and enjoy Canada Day by helping out and getting involved in the community. Can you help out? Grade 12's: A representative from Carleton's Enriched Support Program (ESP) will be in the Career Centre on Monday May 12 to discuss this option for students that are concerned they may not get accepted because their average is below the cut off. If interested sign up in Student Services. (JH May 12)
AN OSAP (ONTARIO STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) representative will be here on Monday. May 12th at 1:35 to assist students with the OSAP process. Please sign up in Student Services this week if you plan to attend. Check out their website ( osap.gov.on.ca ) and have your questions ready! (TC May 12)
THE ONTARIO STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (OSAP). You are invited to a presentation on Thursday, May 22nd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at A.Y. Jackson Secondary School, 150 Abbeyhill Drive, Kanata. GRADUATION CEREMONY TICKETS: The Graduation Ceremony will take place at Mother Teresa HS on Thursday June 26 from 1:00 - 3:00pm. Please note that each graduate will be given 2 tickets for guests. Students can request extra tickets by signing up in Student Services between Thursday May 1st and Friday May 23. No extra tickets can be requested after May 23. Students will be informed exactly how many extra tickets they will receive shortly there after. (JH May 23)
