Peace begins with a smile.

clip_image002WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Students with overdue books and fines are asked to go to the Learning Commons after morning announcements. (MP Mar. 6)

Today is Ash Wednesday. Did you know? The ashes are made from the blessed palms used in the Palm Sunday’s celebration of the previous year. The ashes are christened with Holy Water and are scented by exposure to incense. While the ashes symbolize penance and contrition, they are also a reminder that God is gracious and merciful to those who call on Him with repentant hearts. His Divine mercy is of utmost importance during the season of Lent, and the Church calls on us to seek that mercy during the entire Lenten season with reflection, prayer and penance. Blessings on your Lenten journey. (LD Mar. 5)

clip_image023I am hoping to present a puppet show of Little Red Riding Hood at the Ruth E. Dickinson Library during March Break.  For this project I need to have four student volunteers.  I would like the volunteers to review and modify the script to their liking, make props, develop the stage directions, create the musical set list, and perform their production for about 100 children.  The students will earn volunteer hours for this creative work.  The puppets will be made by a professional puppeteer.

In the past, the students involved in our puppet shows have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Unfortunately these students will be away over the Spring Break and it is time to bring in another troop of puppeteers.

If any of your students would be interested in this opportunity, please have them contact me by email at

ann-marie.miller@ottawa.ca or by phone at 613-580-2796.

Thanks for your assistance with this,

Annie
