clip_image008Basketball Referees Needed - Any high school students interested in refereeing the Elementary Basketball Tournaments upcoming at St. Andrews Elementary in April are asked to contact Mr. Liska.  Dates are Wednesday, April 16th (Girls) and Wednesday, April 23rd (Boys). (JL Apr. 23)

Gather some friends and earn volunteer hours while helping your community.  Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge (Change the World Campaign) is on April 6 - May 19, 2014.  There are three ways for students to be part of the campaign.  1.  Volunteer at the ChangeTheWorld event; http://volunteerottawa.ca/youth/ctw2014/    2. We are organizing an electronic waste recycling day on Friday April 11'th from 12 noon to 7.00 pm and Saturday April 12 from 8.00 am, to 7.00 pm at the Kanata Legion Branch # 638 located at 70 Hines rd. in Kanata. We will donate all proceeds to the Legion. We will be accepting all types of e-waste including computers, keyboards, monitors, televisions, radios, copiers, telephones,...etc...If you are not sure if your item is acceptable, call 613-799-7664, before coming down. The MS Society of Canada Ottawa Chapter is holding their annual Mandarin MS Walk on Sunday, April 27th.  We are looking to recruit over 200 volunteers to assist in a number of duties during the weekend of the event.  In previous years a majority of our volunteers have been students from in and around the Ottawa area.

Explore is a five-week language-immersion course (spring or summer). Participants live in a student residence on campus or with a homestay family whose members speak French.  Participants in Explore receive a $2,200 bursary that covers tuition fees for the course, meals, accommodations, workshops, but the bursary does not cover other necessary costs such as registration fee ($225 non-refundable and payable only if you receive a bursary), travel costs, optional activities, spending money.  See brochures in Student  Services. clip_image018We are having our first Annual Prom Fashion Show. It will be April 10, 2014 here at Mother Teresa High School. It is an evening event starting at 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Ticket sales and promotion of this event will be in collaboration with the Grade 11 business class. Please keep this date in mind. This is a fundraising activity that will help support the class of 2014 Prom.

Ticket Sales for this years Prom will be on sale April 1, 2 and 3, 2014. The price of a ticket is $80. You can write a posted check dated no later than April 15, 2014. We accept cash and checks. No debt or credit cards accepted. The venue has standard tables for 6,8, and 10 guest per table. They will allow for some 12 guest tables (NOT MANY). So, please ensure that all the guests at your table are aware of their table number when purchasing a ticket. These tables are on a first come first served bases.

This year we are using technology to help us collate a lot of the Prom data. The ballot for the King/Queen plus court, guest name & info., meal choice, dietary needs, allergies and other information will be done by accessing  my.mths.ca site and click on the prom registration information icon.
