Day 2 - H.S. & Day 1 - Gr. 7 & 8

CHESS/CHECKERS CLUB: Hey Titans! If chess, checkers, or even backgammon, is your game, then this club is for you. We will be starting a Chess/Checkers club this week. No experience necessary. Even if you have never played, then this is the perfect opportunity to learn. Every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch, you are welcome to bring your lunch to Room 300 and play a game or two. Any board game is welcome. Please bring your own boards for the next week or so. All grades are welcome. (Apr 9)

OUTDOOR CLUB: There will be a meeting for all outdoor club members Wednesday April 1st at 12:00 pm in Room 103. We will be discussing the next outings. (Apr 1)

ATHLETIC COUNCIL: There will be an important Athletic Council meeting after school on Wednesday April 1 at 3:15 in Room 135. (Apr 1)

ARE YOU A STUDENT OF MRS COXALL? You will now be able to check on homework assigned, as well as upcoming tests, on the web. Just go to http://coxall.mths.ca/. (Apr 3)

WRITING COMPETITION: Students who want to enter the Carleton University English Department's writing competition can drop off their submissions to Mrs. Simpson in Rm 138. I will send them to the university before the May 1 deadline. Please fill in an entry form. Poems, scripts, essays and short stories are all welcome! (Apr 3)

DO YOU NEED YOUR INCOME TAXES FILED FOR THIS YEAR?? Did you know that if you were 16 or older on Dec. 31 of 2008, you might be entitled to receive $100 from the government even if you didn’t work? Come to Room 216 after school to meet with the Grade 12 accounting tax experts or talk to Mr. Baldin. (Mar 31)

SHAKIN' IT WITH SHAKESPEARE: You are invited to submit a mural design for the first floor, new wing hall. The mural must celebrate Shakespeare and incorporate ideas, images or scenes from Shakespeare's plays. It also must have an image of Shakespeare and incorporate a relevant quotation from one of his plays. Please give your design idea to Mrs. Simpson in Room 138 by April 3. (Apr. 3)

GRAD GOWNS: Grads are reminded to bring their $75.00 cheque to room 130 to order their gown for commencement. Deadline is April 17th. (Apr 17)

ATTENTION GRADS: Now is the time to order your Class of 2009 graduation ring. Representatives from Jostens will be here to take orders on Monday and Tuesday April 6th & 7th at lunchtime. A $40 deposit is all that is required. Catalogues are now available in Student Services. (Apr 7)

LOOKING FOR A SUMMER JOB: The Ontario Public Service (OPS) hires several thousand individuals in a variety of summer positions across the OPS, its related agencies and community groups.
