KNITTING CLUB: Because of the Family Day holiday, the Knitting Club will meet TODAY in the Library Seminar Room. New members are always welcome - stop by to learn how to make your own scarf, hat or mittens!

JUNIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Join Paustine "Action Packed" Gonzales, Vanessa "McAttack" McAleer and Anisha "Set to Kill" Singh and the rest of the team as they play their first game of the season against St. Paul on Tuesday Feb 17th at 4 pm in the wood floor gym. Let's hear MT make some noise! Can't make it on Tuesday, then come see them on Thursday as they play West Carleton at 4 pm in the wood floor gym.

7/8 SKI XC FAST: Participants please meet with Ms. McKenna TODAY at 1:00 PM at P.E. offices. IMPORTANT: the Ski XC Fast clinic will be held on Wednesday February 18th 9:00am-1030am.

GRADS - BABY PHOTOS: Grads who submitted their baby photos for the yearbook can pick them up from Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services this week.

ST. BRIGID'S SUMMER CAMP: Employment opportunities and Counselor in Training Program available. Employment is open to any student aged 17 or more (mature 16 year olds may be considered). Our Counselor in Training Program is a two-week program open to students aged 15 and 16. UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO MATH CONTESTS: Attention all students writing the math contests on February 18th. The Math Department will be holding practice sessions every Day 2 through February 17th to help students prepare for the contest. The practice sessions will take place during lunch in Room 322. All students are encouraged to attend at least ONE practice session. Please bring your lunch with you.

HIGH SCHOOL WRITING COMPETITION: Entries are being accepted by Carleton University's Department of English in the following categories: short story, poetry, play or script, or essay on literary topic. See Mrs. Simpson in Room 138 for details and entry forms. Due date is May 1.

UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA: An Information Evening and Fair will be held at the University of Ottawa on Wednesday, February 18th. English presentations take place in Alumni Auditorium at 6:30pm and 7:45pm. The Spring Open House will take place on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 8am to 3pm. Highlights include tours (campus, residences, sports complexes); presentations by liaison officers; information fair offering the opportunity to meet with faculty and service representatives. U of T SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM: The University of Toronto's Summer Youth Program brings together the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Medicine, to offer a summer program where high school students experience what it is like to be a student in Canada's premier Medical and Law Schools. Participants take part in "hands-on" academic programming in the same world-class facilities that the undergraduate and graduate students use. This program is held in July on the U of T's Toronto downtown campus, and courses range in length from one to four weeks.
