BUS S14: Please note that, Bus S14 is now starting its route 15 minutes earlier. Please head out to your stop at least 15 minutes earlier every day. (Feb 27)

USHERS FOR CAESAR PLAY: There will be a meeting on Monday, March 2 in the library seminar room. Bring your lunch. (Mar 2)

STRATFORD 2009: The Stratford trip is still on but we need 13 students to complete our crew of theatre buffs heading to Southern Ontario in October of 2009. If you're still on the fence, it's time to get off! See Mrs. Simpson in Rm 138 for details. You will not regret it! (Mar 13)

WRITING COMPETITION: Carleton's English Department writing competition is accepting submissions until May. See Mrs. Simpson for entry forms and word limits. Poems, stories, literary essays and scripts are all accepted. (Mar 13)

HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY BOYS RUGBY: There will be a meeting on Monday, March 2 at 11:45 in room 119 for any high school boys interested in trying out for the Boys’ Rugby team. (Mar 2)

BACKSTAGE VOLUNTEERS: The names of students who will be working backstage for the school play "Caesar" is posted on the door of Room 112. Thank you to all of the students who tried out for the makeup and hairstyling crew.

GRADE 11 AND 12 STUDENTS: Canada’s Perimeter Institute is now accepting applications for free summer science camps for Grade 11 and 12 students with a keen interest in modern physics (ALL EXPENSES PAID). The application deadline for the “International Summer School for Young Physicists” is Thursday, March 19, 2009. Please see Ms. D'Angela in Room #211. (Feb 27)

RESEARCH HELP: Are you having difficulty with choosing a topic for your research assignment, writing a thesis, choosing credible sources, searching, citing your sources of information, choosing a format for your presentations? One-on-one assistance with research and school assignments is available in the library from 3:00pm to 4:00pm any night of the week.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: Please see Mr. Prigent if you are interested in being on security detail for the St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 14th. It involves road closure duty for the Ottawa Police Department. Letters of recommendation are possible for those wishing to apply to the Police Foundations Program at Algonquin. Anyone interested must be 16 years of age or older. (Feb 27)

ONTARIO LAUNCHES SUMMER JOBS PROGRAMS: Ontario has a range of summer job opportunities for students, through Ontario’s Summer Jobs Programs. The Summer Jobs Service offers students free self-marketing and job search services, and offers employers a $2-per-hour wage subsidy to encourage them to hire students. These programs are open to students aged 15 to 24 years (up to 29 years for a person with a disability) who are planning to return to school this fall.

CARLETON UNIVERSITY'S ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS CHAPTER is hosting a conference on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 for Grade 11 and 12 students who are interested in learning about human and social development. Participants can be from any academic background; the sciences, social sciences, the university stream or college stream. GUEST SPEAKER: On March 4th at 2:15 in the Library, our School Resource Officer will be speaking to a small group of grade 11 and 12 students. Subjects will include College vs. University for a future with the police force and she will show a short video. We invite students to come to Student Services to sign up as there will be a maximum 40 students. (Mar 4)
