Day 2 - H.S. & Day 5 - Gr. 7 & 8

ATTENTION Gr. 7/8 STUDENTS:
There will be a music council meeting on Friday at the beginning of lunch.

7/8 GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: A reminder to the Grade 7/8 members of the Girls’ Volleyball team to return their jerseys to room 237 within the next couple of days.

YEARBOOK COMMITTEE: Those involved in Yearbook layout and design are asked to attend a meeting after school in Room 103 TODAY. A representative from Jostens will be giving an important presentation on design. Yearbook Photographers are also asked to attend as they will be given their next photo assignment.

HIGH SCHOOL OSCAR NIGHT BALLOTS: The ballots for the voting for Oscar night are in homeroom teacher mailboxes. Please make sure to collect them in the morning and distribute them to your homeroom. Each student will fill out ONE (1) ballot. Students who are absent will not be able to vote in the future. Collect ALL ballots (used and unused) and send them to Room 301 before the end of Period 1. Please make certain that students advise which homeroom they are from! Nominees will be posted outside the caf next week.

HIGH SCHOOL ALPINE SKI TEAM: All skiers interested in learning a new sport and competing for your school should sign up outside room 201 today or Friday. Skiers of all abilities - beginner to advanced skiers - are able to learn how to race and then compete in one of three divisions according to ability/experience. Training happens both at school and on the hill. See Mrs. Brady or Ms. Earle for more details. We will hold an information meeting on Monday, Nov. 19 at 11:45 in room 201.

INTRAMURALS: Intramural semifinals take place TODAY in the wood floor gym: Transformers vs No Names and Acidic Purple Rain of Domination vs ROB's. Finals are on Friday. Check the Soccer schedule on Friday as it will be posted and the season starts Monday next week. All hockey and soccer captains are to check the team lists and make any changes before the season begins. Hockey will begin once a soccer champion has been declared. Next sign up is Basketball - Sign up forms will be available next week.

MATH CONTEST: The second CNML (Canadian Math League) math contest takes place on Tuesday, November 20th in the library. Students are reminded to report to their period 2 class for attendance before coming to the library. Students should have pencils, and calculators. All are welcome to participate.

OVERSEAS H.S. CREDITS: MEI International Academy is offering overseas international credits this summer. Explore Europe, Costa Rica, or Egypt while studying and earning Ontario high school credits. To learn more about these summer programs abroad, you can pick up a brochure in Student Services. MEI International Academy is holding an information session for parents and students this Saturday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Westin Hotel. Your can RSVP at meiacademy.com. The world is your classroom!

VARSITY GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS: There will be tryouts for ALL Junior and Senior girls interested in playing on the high school Girls’ Volleyball team this year. Tryouts are in Gym A/B on Monday, Nov. 19th at 7:15 am, Tuesday, Nov. 20th from 3:15 - 4:30 pm AND Wednesday, Nov. 21st from 3:15 - 4:30 pm. See you there! If you cannot make it, please see Miss. Kuchma in room 134 before Monday.

ATTENTION ALL CAPPIES: We will have a VERY important meeting on Friday, November 16 at 11:40 in room 300 to discuss the upcoming musical to be reviewed. Please bring your Cappie binder and your lunch!

ALGONQUIN COLLEGE INFORMATION NIGHTS:
Algonquin College is holding four Information Nights this week at their Woodroffe campus. All sessions are held in Room T102 (Technology building, next to the visitors parking lot) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to find out more about specific programs at Algonquin. Tonight is a presentation by the Faculty of Technology and Trades. Register online at www.algonquincollege.com. Click on the link on the home page.

GRAD PHOTOS: All time slots for the graduation portrait session days have been filled. If you have not signed up and want Grad photos, please sign up on the waiting list in Student Services. Lifetouch will endeavour to schedule new sessions for later in the school year. If you only require a yearbook pose only (no cost), please go directly to the Library seminar room where your photo will be taken without an appointment.
