Day 2 - H.S. & Day 2 - Gr. 7 & 8

7/8 Student Council:
All 7/8 Homeroom Reps are asked to attend a brief meeting at lunch today in Room 339. We will be finalizing some dance details. Please bring your homeroom's playlist and your agenda.

ATTENTION GRADE 7/8 STUDENTS: Are you interested in helping out with this year's play? The One & Only Santa Claus is set for Thursday, December 13th. We are looking for stage hands to help with scene changes, lighting and sound technicians, set painters, curtain pullers, prop/costumes makers, assistant technical director, assistant stage manager, ushers and ticket sellers. Visit room 332 to sign up.

ENVIRONMENT CLUB: Environment Club meeting is cancelled today. Please see Miss Mancini next week to obtain your passes.

"MAKE THE CUT": Students interested in participating in the November 28th presentation at Carleton University (as previously explained) are reminded to return their completed forms to Mrs. McLaughlin, Mr. Whitten or Ms. Stewart.

WHITE PINE READING CLUB FOR GRADE 9-12 STUDENTS: If you like to read, please come to the first meeting of the White Pine Reading Club. Meet new friends and enjoy some great books by Canadian authors. Bring your lunch to the first meeting on Wednesday, November 7th in the library seminar room at 11:45.

LOOKING FOR A BABYSITTER: Looking for an occasional babysitter for two boys (10 yr old and 2 yr old; 2 yr old has peanut allergy). Live close to school, Berrigan/Claridge area. Please contact Cindy Hodgins at (613) 324-7143.

INTRAMURALS: Intramurals: Soccer sign ups are now complete - watch for the schedule in the near future. For those that missed out - get your forms in early - Next sign ups are for basketball- next week.

TAKE OUR KIDS TO WORK DAY: Wednesday, November 7th is Take Our Kids To Work Day. There are no classes for Gr. 9 students on that day. All Grade 9 students have been given information pamphlets and permission forms. The permission forms are to be returned to the homeroom teacher by Monday, Nov. 5th.

REACH FOR THE TOP: Students interested in entering the annual Reach In-School Tourney should pick up team entry forms in Room 200 as soon as possible. Entry deadline is Thursday Nov. 8. The revolution continues...

ALGONQUIN COLLEGE: A representative from Algonquin College will be here on Monday, Nov. 5 at 9:05 a.m. to speak to graduates who are interested in attending Algonquin College in September 2008. Come and pick up a viewbook and find out about the many programs available to students.

ATTENTION GRADS: Your opportunity to purchase your "Class of 2008" grad ring has arrived!! Representatives from Jostens will be here to take orders on Wednesday and Thursday - Nov. 7th and 8th - at lunchtime. Catalogues are now available in the main office. A $60 deposit is required to place an order.

DODGEBALL: Dodgeball intramurals are in full swing - come check out the action: TODAY: Juggernaughts vs ROB's and President's Choice vs Terra.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: Any serious students wishing to get valuable community service hours helping out with yearbook sales are asked to see Mr. Prigent. Shifts include 8:15 - 8:55 and 11:45 - 12:30. 1 hour of community service for each shift but students must be willing to commit. Ideal for students that are regularly at school early or need something to do at lunch. You must have at least 2 teacher references.
