Day 2 - H.S. & Day 5 - Gr. 7 & 8

RED MAPLE CLUB:
Meeting TODAY at the start of Junior lunch. Bring your lunch with you to the library.

LIBRARY CLOSURE: The library will be closed after school TODAY.

TAKE OUR KIDS TO WORK DAY: Wednesday, November 7th is Take Our Kids To Work Day. There are no classes for Gr. 9 students on that day. Students have been given information pamphlets and permission forms. The permission forms are to be returned to the homeroom teacher by Monday, Nov. 5th.

H.S. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: If you are interested in trying out for the JUNIOR or SENIOR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL team this year, please come out to Room134 (first floor in the new wing) at 11:45 TODAY for a very brief meeting. If you cannot make it, please let a friend know who is attending the meeting so they can sign you up.

YEARBOOK COMMITTEE: Yearbook Committee members who are involved in page design are asked to attend a meeting this Thursday, November 1st after school in Room 103. This is a very important meeting to finalize the layout/design of pages before the first deadline. Photographers who have Halloween pictures are also asked to attend in order to download their photos.

REACH FOR THE TOP: Students interested in entering the annual Reach In-School Tourney should pick up entry forms in Room 200 as soon as possible. An information session will be held TODAY at 12:00-12:15 in Room 203 (Mr. Miller's Mindscape) for those requiring more data.

ALGONQUIN COLLEGE: A representative from Algonquin College will be here on Monday, Nov. 5 at 9:05 a.m. to speak to graduates who are interested in attending Algonquin College in September 2008. Come and pick up a viewbook and find out about the many programs available to students.

ATTENTION GRADS: Your opportunity to purchase your "Class of 2008" grad ring has arrived!! Representatives from Jostens will be here to take orders on Wednesday and Thursday - Nov. 7th and 8th - at lunchtime. Catalogues are now available in the main office. A $60 deposit is required to place an order.

INTRAMURALS: Deadline for Soccer is fast approaching - 5 of 8 teams are paid and entered, there are only 3 spots left! Deadline is Friday. Dodgeball intramurals are in full swing - come check out the action: TODAY. Soulja boys vs Acidic Purple Rain and Transformers vs No Names. Thurs. Soulja Boys vs No Names and Acidic Purple Rain vs Transformers. Fri. Juggernaughts vs ROB's and President's Choice vs Terra.

COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: Any serious students wishing to get valuable community service hours helping out with yearbook sales are asked to see Mr. Prigent. Shifts include 8:15 - 8:55 and 11:45 - 12:30. 1 hour of community service for each shift but students must be willing to commit. Ideal for students that are regularly at school early or need something to do at lunch. You must have at least 2 teacher references.

DOOR DECORATING CONTESTS: The Halloween door decorating contest for High School homerooms will take place TODAY. Judging will occur between 9:10 and 9:25 am. Prizes will be awarded to the top three homerooms. Note - All doors must be cleaned up on Thursday, November 1.

DRESS UP FOR HALLOWEEN: A reminder that masks are NOT permitted, and costumes should be appropriate to be worn at school. Best Costume contests will be held during both senior and junior lunch in the Cafeteria. Come out and vote for your favorite costumes!!

MATH TUTOR WANTED: LF a Math and English tutor for a Grade 7 boy once or twice a week, after 5:30pm for one hour. All those interested should call Ikram at 613 843-9660.

MT COFFEE HOUSE:
Student Council is hosting our 3rd Annual Coffee House on Thursday, November 1st. Performers from grades 7 through 12 will sing, dance and play for your enjoyment. Admission is $2 at the door, and refreshments, including Starbucks coffee and homemade treats, will be available for a small fee. Doors open at 6:45 pm and the show will run from about 7:00 – 9:00pm. Everyone is welcome!! High school students can get a sneak preview of the high school acts during period 4 on Thursday. Just bring $2 to your period 4 teacher to buy out of class, and come down and see your very talented classmates perform!
