Day 1 - H.S. & Day 1 - Gr. 7 & 8

7-8 BAND TRIP:
Any 7/8 Band student who has not received a letter and form for the trip to the NAC on November 30th, needs to see Mrs. Antoine today to get one. Don't miss out on a fabulous opportunity!

ATTENTION 7-8 STUDENTS: The music room will be open at lunch on TODAY & Friday.

LIBRARY CLOSURES: TODAY during Grade 7/8 lunch and Friday, October 19 the library is closed all day.

ENRICHMENT MEETING: TODAY during 7 & 8 Lunch. Please bring your lunch to Room 132.

PEER HELPING: Very brief and very important meeting for all Peer Helpers TODAY at the start of lunch in room 326.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MT CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM: All team members have advanced to the regional finals next Thursday. Well done. Reminder of the next practice on Monday, October 22nd.

H.S. BOYS BASKETBALL: Attention all high school basket ball players. There will be an important meeting today at lunch time in room 104. If you are interested in playing basketball you need to be there to sign up. If you can’t make it at lunch time just add your name to the sign-up sheet that will be posted to door 104. If you have any questions, please see Mr.Denis.

VARSITY GIRLS HOCKEY: A reminder to members of the Varsity Girls Hockey team to please bring in their outstanding athletic fee to their game TODAY.

INTERESTED IN COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: Interested in community service hours? Mother Teresa is putting together a TUG OF WAR team to compete against other high schools, police department, fire department as part of a fundraiser for the Union Mission High school. 20 hours available for a full Saturday on October 27. Only serious individuals should inquire with Mr. Prigent this week. We need 6 more males to round out the co-ed team. Must be in grades 11 or 12.

PICTURE RE-TAKES: Lifetouch will be here TOMORROW (Friday, Oct. 19) for picture re-takes. If you missed the first picture day, be sure to have your picture taken this Friday in order to obtain your student ID card. There is no cost if you simply want the ID card. Packages are available if you want to order more photos.

MATH CONTEST: The first of six CNML (Canadian Math League) contests takes place on Tuesday, October 23 during period 2. Students must report to their period 2 class for attendance before making their way to the library for the contest. The contest takes 30 minutes and is open to all high school students.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: Friends of the Jock River are organizing an environmental project for this Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It involves wrapping the lower part of trees in the Half Moon Bay area (Greenbank Rd. area) to protect them from beavers. If you are interested in helping out, sign up in Student Services.

INTRAMURALS: Dodgeball team entry forms are due by Friday this week. Cost is $1 per player. All teams must have at least one male and one female on it. All money and forms should be handed into Mr. Prigent.

YEARBOOK PHOTOGRAPHERS: TODAY is the deadline to submit all Yearbook photos from the first assignments of the year. Please come to Room 103 after school at 3:05 TODAY to download your photos. These include: Welcome Back, Terry Fox, Spirit Week, What's in your Locker, What's in your Backpack, Students Learning, Leadership Camp, and the Stratford Trip. All Committee members who attended the In-Design training workshop are also asked to attend today to begin designing some pages.

QUEBEC UNIVERSITIES IN OTTAWA:
The three English language Quebec Universities, McGill, Concordia and Bishops, will have representatives in Ottawa TONIGHT at Woodroffe H.S. to explain programs and admission requirements. Program begins at 7:00 p.m.
