HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Jr. Girls
Basketball: Anyone who is interested in trying out for the Junior Girls
basketball team is asked to please sign up on the list outside of room 311
before the end of the day on Friday,
September 6th. Thank you!
HS Golf ; Any
Girls and Boys interested to play Golf this year, are asked to attend an
important meeting during lunch, on Friday, September 6th, in room 104. (KM Sept. 6)
Attention all gr.11/12 students who may be
interested in a career in Health and Wellness (doctor, nurse, dietition,
nutritionist, personal trainer, psychologist, or psychiatrist, to name a
few.). St. Mother Teresa has a new Health and Wellness Specialist High
Skills Major (SHSM) that will help you gain valuable job skills/training, reach
ahead experiences, job experiences and more. If you want to build a great
resume and gain an advantage for these programs, please come to a meeting in room 108 on Friday, September 6h at the
beginning of lunch to discuss the opportunities and benefits of this
program, our first training sessions and field trips. (SR Sept. 6)
Attention High School Students! There are
only 3 spots remaining for High School students
interested in joining us on the Costa Rica trip in March! Don't miss out on
this amazing experience! Information packages & permission forms can be
found outside room 203. If you have any questions, please see Mrs.
Brownrigg (rm 203) or Mrs. Sinclair (rm 211). (LB Sept. 13)
Girls HS Field Hockey: Any High School girls interested in
joining this year's Girls Field Hockey team
are asked to come to back-to-back tryouts on Wednesday, September 4th and Thursday, September 5th on the
side soccer field. Past years' players are required to try-out. No
equipment necessary to try-out, however please wear regular phys-ed attire
and running shoes. (CP Sept. 5)
HS Cross
Country: Welcome back to all those runners, aspiring runners and
people who just like to run, High School Cross Country sign ups will begin this
week starting on Wednesday until Friday.
Our first practice will be Monday,
September 9. Please sign up outside room 304. If you have any questions
please see Mrs. Galbraith or Ms. Earle. (MG,TE Sept. 9)
Student Council: There is a student council meeting on Thursday, September 5, in the student council room (room 207) (OT Sept.5)
Football Team Managers Needed: Any students that are interested in
helping manage the high school football team are asked to stop by room 119
during high school lunch anytime this week. Community service hours are
available. (AC Sept. 6)
Varsity
girls Basketball try outs: Tuesday- Thursday this week. Wood floor gym
3-4:30. (KM Sept.5)
Students looking for a change to their schedules must pick up a request
for schedule form in Student Services.
Forms must be signed by a parent/guardian before submitting the request
to your counsellor. Students must follow their current timetable until a change
has been approved.
Last day for a schedule change is
Monday, September 9, 2019.
New York City 2020: Any Grade 11/12 students who are still interested
in joining this spring's NYC trip are asked to see Mr. Rowley in Room 136 for
information and permission forms. There are a few spots remaining for this
coming years trip. (MR Sept. 12)
Boys' Basketball Open Gym:There will be open gym for any grade 9 - 12 boys'
interested in playing pick up games on
the following dates: Tuesday, September 10 @ 4:30PM, Thursday, September
12th @ 4:30PM, and Tuesday, September 17th @ 4:30PM. If you have
any questions see Mr. Rowley in Room 136. (MR Sept.17)
STUDENT SERVICES
The
Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Fall 2019 Night School
Program registration forms have arrived at St. Mother Teresa High School. Registration
dates are from Monday, August 26th to Tuesday, September 17th at Registration
Office, 440 Albert Street, Room E122B, 9:00am to 4:30pm Forms must be signed by
student, parent and guidance counsellor and include student status sheet, proof
of citizenship and Status in Canada and proof of address.
