7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
Grade 7/8 Track and
Field Information:
Team lists are posted outside of room 232 (Mme Kinloch's class) and the
grade 7/8 phys. ed. offices.
There will be a team meeting on Tuesday, May 21st in room 232.
Practices will be held: Wednesday,
May 22nd; Friday, May 24th; Monday, May 27th; Wednesday,
May 29th after school from 3-4.
The Meet is scheduled for Thursday, May 30th at the
Terry Fox Complex.
If you have any questions or concerns please see Mme Kinloch in room 232

7/8 Girl's Softball: Any 7/8 girls interested in trying out for
the softball team are asked to sign up outside Mr. Nicoletti/Quinn's office.
Try-outs will take place May 22nd, 23rd and 24th from 7:30 am to 8:30 am at the
diamond across the street from MT. Bring your glove, if you have one. (KS May 24)
Craft Club: The grade 7/8 craft club meets every Friday at lunch in
room 233. Bring your lunch and get ready to be creative! All grade
7 and 8 students welcome!

for!...Bring your loonies and twoonies next Wed May 29th at lunch in the Atrium
for the Intro to Bizz - Entrepreneurship Competition. Purchase your

24th from 3:30-7:30? If so we need your help at the 7/8 Trivia

STUDENT SERVICES
Driver Education Forms are
available in Student Services for Summer 2019 program. You must be 16 years old
and have a G1 license prior to July 2, 2019. Total cost is $705.12. Register
online, by fax, by mail, or in person as is indicated on the form. Do not
return the form to Student Services. In-class instruction July 2-5 inclusive,
20 hours 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. In-car instruction = 20 hours (10 hours
behind the wheel; 10 hours observation) takes place during the months of July
and August.
2019 Walk for Arthritis is
Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Carleton U - Alumni Park. Volunteers required at
7:30 am. Walk registration, family zone, cheerleaders, route
marshals...Sign up at Walkforarthritis.ca and click on Participate and follow

Summer Registration Forms from
the public board (OCDSB) have arrived in Student Services. Classes run July 3 to July
25, 2019. Class times are from 8:30 am to 3:35 pm. Student or parent must
bring completed signed forms (student/parent/guidance counsellor) to 400 Albert
Street, Room E122B. Monday to Friday, from April 8th to June 27th, 9:00 am to
4:30 pm. On Tuesdays, May 7 to June 25, the registration office is open until 7
pm.

Summer School registration forms are now available in Student Services. Register from March 6th to June 28th. All forms must be signed by
student, parent/guardian and guidance counsellor.
Final
registration date is June 28th (9am to 1pm) and must be done at St. Nicholas
Adult High School located at 893 Admiral Avenue.
Young Women in Public Safety
Program will be held from July 15-19, 2019. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to
visit several federal public safety organizations in the National Capital Area,
such as: Canada Border Services Agency, Cdn Security Intelligence Service,
Correctional Service Canada, just to name a few. For more information,
visit canada.ca/gcjobs and check out the
leaflets in Student Services. Complete the application process through the
Federal Student Work Experience program.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
LF Volunteers: to help at a Child
Services Expo on Saturday, June 1st from 9-noon. It is being held at
Southpointe Community Centre at 220 Stonecrest Drive in Barrhaven. Assistance
is needed for set up and clean up, children's craft table, assisting
service providers, etc. Please contact Karen at karenfromm@yahoo.ca for more

LF Volunteers:
At the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend
on Saturday, May 25th at the Confederation Park. From handing out
race kits before the race to keeping runners hydrated on course, etc. Run
Ottawa will provide transportation (bus) to the Recovery area if there is
interest.There will be supervisors on the bus. Bus time would be departing at 9
am Saturday from the school and returning around 4 pm. Official volunteer
shirt, hat, snack beverage and supervision will be provided. For more

volunteers, counsellors in training, co-op students for their soccer day
