7/8 Volleyball: All boys
wanting to play on the 7/8 boys volleyball team are asked to sign up outside
the phys ed offices in the caf gym. Tryouts will be Tuesday, September 25th and Thursday, September 27th
from 3:00 - 4:15pm. (KH Sept. 27)
7/8 Ultimate: Ultimate
practices will take place Monday, September
24th and Tuesday, September 25th from 7:30 to 8:25 am (KS
Sept. 25)
7/8 Volleyball: Any 7/8 girls
interested in trying out for this year volleyball team is invited to sign up
(near the gym) and attend the 2
tryouts Tuesday, September 25th and Thursday, September 27th. (MC Sept. 27)

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Last Chance for New York City 2019 - Any Grade 11/12 students still interested in taking part in
the New York City trip this spring are reminded that the first payment and
necessary paperwork are due this FRIDAY,
September 28th to Mr. Rowley in Room 136. After this date, the
opportunity to join the trip will be closed. Extra information packages are
available in Room 136. (MR Sept. 28)
HS Swim Team - There will be a meeting at 11:30 on Tuesday, October 2nd in room 205
for all students interested in joining the high school swim team. If you cannot
make the meeting, please see Mrs Sinclair. (JS Oct.2)
All grade 9/10 Boys’ interested
in trying out for the Junior Boys’ Basketball team are asked to attend the

High School Chess Club: Any students interested in
joining a high school chess club are asked to meet this Wednesday, September 26th at the start of lunch in the

High School Book Club: Any students interested in joining
a high school book club are asked to meet this Thursday, September 27th at the start of lunch in the
Learning Commons Seminar Room. Book choices will be discussed - so please bring

Attention all High School Cross Country athletes, if you have not yet handed in the permission forms and
medical forms and paid your team fees please do so ASAP in order to be eligible
for the meet next week! See Mrs. Galbraith in room 304 if you have any

Driver Education Fall 2018
Program.
Forms are available in Student Services. Registration
runs until October 10th.
Do not bring back the form to Student Services, but register either online, by
fax, by mail or in person as specified on the registration form. The Fee
is $705.12. Students must be at least 16 years of age and have a G1 License
prior to October 15, 2018. (KW Oct. 10)
HS Girls Hockey: High School
girls interested in trying out for the hockey team are asked to sign up outside
room 110 and pick up a form from Mr Pelletier. Tryouts are at Walter
Baker on Monday, October 15th and Monday October 29th from 3:20 to 4:30. (MP Oct. 29)
Students in Gr. 9-12 wishing to be a tutor are invited to pick up a tutoring application in Student

York City Spring 2019 Trip meeting can still pick up the information
package from Mr. Rowley in Room 136. Deadline for the sign up for the trip

is free. It is a unique opportunity for female students in Grades 7

A representative from Josten's Rings will be in the atrium,

There will be an important meeting for all grade 12 students Wednesday, September 26th during
period 4. Students would report to their period 4 class for attendance and to
pick up their status sheet before heading to the meeting. Students who have a
spare NEED to attend this "Everything you need to know for Grade 12"
meeting.

College bound will report to The Learning Commons.
Students who are
University bound will head to Gym C/D (College information will be provided at
this meeting as well.)
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
LF Volunteers: Do you
need community service hours? Do you enjoy meeting the public? Well Carleton
University is looking for student volunteers for this Saturday, September 29th for their
GeoHeritage Day. Variety of locations to work in with a variety of activities.
If interested, please come see Ms. Soprovich in Room 202 before school, at
lunch or after school. (SS Sept. 28)
LF Volunteers: Do you have what it takes? Watson’s Mill in Manotick wants you to join
our cast and crew for a truly haunting experience. We need volunteers for who
will scare our visitors and leave them frighten of things that go bump in the night.
Haunt Night volunteers will be needed for the evenings of October 18th, 19th, and 20th
from 5pm – 10pm.All time spent as part of our cast and crew can be
used towards the 40 hours of community service needed to graduate. Please sign up by emailing programs@watsonsmill.com
