7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

7/8 Ultimate:  For those students who have made the 7/8 Ultimate team, practices will take place Tuesday, September 18th  and Thursday, September 20th at 7:30am. (KS Sept. 20)

7/8 Band: Wednesday, September 19that lunch, we will be having a meeting for any grade 7 or 8 students who would like to join band. Please bring your lunches to room 120. (IC Sept. 19)

The Learning Commons lunch passes are now available to sign out. Please stop at the Learning Commons' main desk, before 8:35am, and sign out your lunch pass. (NBD Sept. 21)

Yoga - All Grade 7 and 8 students are welcome to come to yoga in the Dance Studio at 12:40 on Tuesdays. Starts September 25th. No experience necessary. Yoga mats will be provided. Come try it out! (KM Sept. 25)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Europe Trip 2019: To all students who signed up for this year’s Europe trip - Italy and Greece, please attend a very important meeting in room 230 at lunch on Wednesday, September 19th(JB Sept. 19)

Attention all High School Cross Country athletes, if you have not yet handed in the permission forms and medical forms and paid your team fees please do so ASAP in order to be eligible for the meet next week!  See Mrs. Galbraith in room 304 if you have any questions or concerns. (MG Feb. 21)

Driver Education Fall 2018 Program.  Forms are available in Student Services. Registration runs until October 10th.  Do not bring back the form to Student Services, but register either online, by fax, by mail or in person as specified on the registration form.  The Fee is $705.12. Students must be at least 16 years of age and have a G1 License prior to October 15, 2018. (KW Oct. 10)

HS Girls Hockey: High School girls interested in trying out for the hockey team are asked to sign up outside room 110 and pick up a form from Mr Pelletier. Tryouts are at Walter Baker on Monday, October 15th and Monday October 29th from 3:20 to 4:30. (MP Oct. 29)

Students in Gr. 9-12 wishing to be a tutor are invited to pick up a tutoring application in Student Services.  (MB Sept. 28)

Attention Titans!  The Fitness Room is now open at lunch every day from 11:50 to 12:10 for a quick workout!  Pop in and see what we have to offer for your fitness needs!  (LV Sept. 28)

Any Grade 11 or 12 student who missed the New York City Spring 2019 Trip meeting can still pick up the information package from Mr. Rowley in Room 136. Deadline for the sign up for the trip is Friday, September 28th 2018. (MR Sept. 28)

Go Eng Girl - Saturday, October 13th, 2018, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cost is free.  It is a unique opportunity for female students in Grades 7 to 10 and their parents to learn about careers in the exciting field of engineering.  Register:  carleton.ca/vv. (KW Oct. 13)

Concordia University is having an Open House on Saturday, October 20th, 2018, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Sir George Williams Campus and Loyola Campus. Register at concordia.ca/openhouse

Grad Wear: Didn't get any grad wear?  Orders for anyone who did not get a chance to purchase are now open online and will remain open for two weeks only.  Please see Mr. Gervasi with any questions. (MG Oct. 4)

Prom: Any grade 12 students who is interested in joining the prom committee this year is invited to attend a short meeting on Wednesday, September 19 at lunch in the hairstyling room.  All are welcome! (CH Sept. 19)

Algonquin College Presentation: Any Grade 12 student interested in attending Algonquin College next fall is invited to a presentation Wednesday, September 19th, at 8:50am in the Learning Commons.  Interested students must sign up in Student Services before the presentation.  (EB Sept. 19)


VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

LF Volunteers: Do you have what it takes? Watson’s Mill in Manotick wants you to join our cast and crew for a truly haunting experience. We need volunteers for who will scare our visitors and leave them frighten of things that go bump in the night. Haunt Night volunteers will be needed for the evenings of October 18th, 19th, and 20th from 5pm – 10pm.All time spent as part of our cast and crew can be used towards the 40 hours of community service needed to graduate. LF Volunteers: OIAF needs more volunteers for the Animation Expose trade show at the NAC. Saturday, September 29th  8:00am to 4:30pm. Volunteers help with Animation booths. Interested students can speak to Ms. OSullivan in the coop office on most lunches. www.animationfestival.ca    (MO Sept.28)

LF Volunteers: The Knight's of Columbus and CWL at St. Patrick's Parish in Fallowfield are looking for students who would be interested in earning volunteer hours by helping out at our Fall Supper this year.  It is taking place in the parish hall at 15 Steeple Hill Crescent on Sunday, September 23rd, from 5-7pm.  We would like 10 to 15 students to work with us from 4-8pm.   For further information, contact Catherine.Gasper@ocsb.ca . Students will need to have their own transportation to and from the event.  The student volunteers will be expected to help set up, clear tables, help package the take out meals, pour juice, help with clean up etc.  They will not be responsible for serving hot beverages.  (KW Sept. 23)
