7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Gr. 7/8 We Team fundraiser is
being extended until Wednesday, May 30. Money raised
will help communities in Kenya have daily access to clean water and the canned
goods will be donated to the Barrhaven Food Bank. Donations are
still being accepted online (or in homeroom) and canned goods
will be collected daily. The
WE Team greatly appreciates your support!! (LF May 30)
The members of the WE Team (and any student council
members who have already signed up) are reminded to meet in rm 334
this Friday, May 25 at 10:45. Please see Mme

7/8 Boys
Softball: There will be a boys' softball try-out after school on Friday and Monday. Please meet in
Ms. Hall's room at 2:50 on Friday and sign up outside her room. (RH May 28)
ATTENTION GR. 7/8 TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES: All athletes are
asked to attend the following practices:

Tuesday, May 29th (assuming you
are not a football player as you have a game.)
Our Meet is at the Terry Fox Complex
on Thursday May 31st. Please make sure you are available that day if

7/8 Girls Softball Team: Any girls interested in trying out for the 7/8 softball team
are invited to try out on Wednesday, May 23rd, Thursday, May 24th and Friday, May
25th from 7:30 a.m to 8:30a.m at the diamond across the street
from the school. (KS May 24)
Practices will run after school from 3:00 to
approximately 4:15. If you are not sure if you have qualified for an
event please check the team list that is posted outside of the
phys. ed. offices. If you are still not sure or you are unable to attend the

7/8 Rugby Team: Are
you looking for good sport to practice team work, respect and confidence? The
Barrhaven Scottish rugby team is looking for new recruits between the ages of 7
to 17. It is a great hobby to be part of. For more information, contact the
emails matching your age group on the flyers posted on the 2nd and 3rd
floor.

Driver's Ed: Come pick up your registration
form in Student Services for the summer program. You can register online
at conted.ocsb.ca or
by mailing/faxing/dropping off the registration form to the Continuing
Education Department at 570 West Hunt

Youth Night: Starting Friday, June 8th every second Friday. For ages 12-16 at 7-9pm

Summer School: We have both the public and
catholic school boards' summer school registration forms in Student
Services. Drop by early morning, lunch time, after school to pick up your
forms. Students, parents and guidance counsellors need to sign these
forms. June 28th is the final registration date for both

The Graduation Ceremony
is Wednesday, June 27th at 1:00 pm at the Metropolitan Bible Church.
Each graduate will be given 2 tickets for guests.
Students can request extra tickets by going to my.mths.ca between Tuesday,
May 1st and Thursday, May 31st. No extra tickets can be requested
after May 31st. Students will be informed exactly how many extra tickets
they will receive shortly thereafter. (TC May 31)
A Message from
Carleton University: The Enriched Support program – ESP –
is designed for students that don’t meet the traditional entrance requirements.
We offer students the chance to begin first-year study with
structured academic support in the form of weekly support workshops. Students
who finish our program with the necessary average are guaranteed admission to
many programs at Carleton. We
also have Information Nights coming up on May 18th and June 1st. The
