WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENT

Ottawa University’s Mini Medical School presents:
·          6 week courses on Thursday Evenings from April 12, 2018 - May 17, 2018 at the The Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus and/or
·          DOC for a Day on Tues., April 24, 2018 in the evening at the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre.

​7/8 We Day: The members of the gr. 7/8 WE Day Team are reminded of the presentation on Tuesday, April 24 from 12 - 1 p.m. in rm. 334. See Mme Francella if you have any questions and bring your lunch! (LF Apr. 24)
7/8 Girls Touchfootball: Reminder that there is a 7/8 Girls Touch football tryout Friday, April 20th (today) after school from 3 - 4 pm. Meet in the wood floor gym. (MM April 20)
The Learning Commons will be closed during the grade 7 and 8 lunch hour. There will be no lunch passes and the Chess/Robot Club is cancelled. The club will meet again next Wednesday. Thank you! (NBD April 25)
The Learning Commons' clubs have begun, but new members are always welcome.  The Makerspace and Red Maplebooks clubs start at the beginning of the lunch period and students are asked to bring their lunches with them.
  • The Makerspace club is a fun club that includes crafts, Lego, knitting and so much more. This club will meet Tuesdays for Grade 7s and Thursdays for Grade 8s. 
  • Our Red Maple book club will meet every Friday at lunch. This year's club will be reading up to 10 Canadian Fiction selections selected specifically for students in grades 7 and 8. The titles have been announced and will be discussed at this week's meeting. 
The Learning Commons lunch passes: Please stop at the Learning Commons' main desk, before 8:35am, and sign out your pass for the day.

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Boys Baseball: Boys baseball tryout will be on Tuesday after school at the diamond across the street. Let Mr. Baldin or Mr. Beaulne know if you won't be there. (LB April 24)

A reminder to all High School Students that the School Letter is awarded to graduates who have made outstanding contributions to our school community during their high school years and who model our school motto “Love & Dignity”. 
We strongly encourage students to submit the record of activities, (the application) at the end of each year. The activities need to be signed by teachers. If you wait until the end of grade 12 you may have difficulties tracking down teachers from a few years ago. Varsity Ultimate Frisbee: Open Try-Outs for Varsity Ultimate Frisbee team will be in the wood floor gym after school on Thursday April 26th and Friday, April 27th. See Mr. Nuyens for further details. (TN April 27)

New York City Trip: All High School students going on the new York City trip this spring are asked to attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, May 2nd 2018 at lunch in Room 136 - final important information items will be discussed. (MR May 2)

Student Council: Are you interested in joining Student Council next year? Do you plan on running a campaign for co-prez or grade rep? Come to a meeting in room 216 on Tues April 24th at lunch to find out more! See Mr. Nuyens if you have any questions. (TN April 24)

Any high school student who is interested in being involved in next year's high school play (especially if you have signed up for the production or drama class), please attend an important meeting during high school lunch on Wednesday, April 25. Grade 8 students are asked to sign up on the stage door (room 114).  Please see Ms. Laviolette or Mrs. Rose for more information. (MR April 25)

Ottawa Police: Attention students interested in doing COOP with Ottawa Police next September. The COOP team can select two candidates to submit to Ottawa Police to compete in interviews with students from across Ottawa. We will be submitting our school’s two candidates on April 30. Please see Mrs. OSullivan or Mrs. Rivington (room 320) or Mr. Francoeur ( room 103) for an application form before April 25 if you are interested. Interviews will take with the Ottawa Police between May 10 and May 15, 2018. (MO April 24)

Summer School: We have both the public and catholic school boards' summer school registration forms in Student Services.  Drop by early morning, lunch time, after school to pick up your forms. Students, parents and guidance counsellors need to sign these forms.  June 28th is the final registration date for both boards. (KW June 28)

It's back by popular demand, Aspiring Artists! This summer camp is looking for volunteers here at St. Mother Teresa High School. Camp dates are:  July 16-20 and July 23-27. Please call 613-296-3726.

LF Volunteers: Ottawa Children’s Festival  May 11- May 15.  The volunteer works with the Festival Staff at the onsite box-office, which is usually open from 8:45am – 4:00pm every day of the Festival. Because of the nature of this job, we appreciate volunteers who can work for several days. The box office generally needs 4 – 6 volunteers each day. Volunteer Duties include: Taking orders and filling out our forms, Selling tickets, Tracking sales, Checking and confirming arrival lists for school groups, Schlepping – carrying items to/from the office and storage trailer, Other tasks as assigned by the box-office manager
