Looking for Math Enrichment opportunities in our community? IMPORTANT UPDATE ABOUT MINI ENRICHMENT: Students who were chosen for mini enrichment must pick their courses and return their forms by FRIDAY, JANUARY 19th, not Tuesday, January 23rdForms must be returned with a cheque made payable to Ottawa Catholic School Board for $133 to Rm 130(NC Jan 19)

7/8 Boys Futsal: Any 7/8 boys interested in trying out for the futsal team, come to the tryouts Tuesday, January 16th and Thursday, January 18th at 7:30 am in the Caf Gym. There will be a sign up sheet outside of the 7/8 Physical Education offices near the Caf Gym. (CN Jan 17)

The Learning Commons' clubs have begun, but new members are always welcome.  The Makerspace and Red Maple books clubs start at the beginning of the lunch period and students are asked to bring their lunches with them.
  • The Makerspace club is a fun club that includes crafts, Lego, knitting and so much more. This club will meet Tuesdays for Grade 7s and Thursdays for Grade 8s. 
  • Our Red Maple book club will meet every Friday at lunch. This year's club will be reading up to 10 Canadian Fiction selections selected specifically for students in grades 7 and 8. The titles have been announced and will be discussed at this week's meeting. 
The Learning Commons lunch passes: Please stop at the Learning Commons' main desk, before 8:35am, and sign out your pass for the day.

Peer Helpers:  For any Peer Helpers interested in participating in supplemental activities, we have ideas coming up before exams. Come to a meeting Wednesday, January 17th at lunch in room 310. It will be brief! (PC Jan 17)

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Beginner Driver Education - Winter 2018 - with DTSM Driving School - Register online at conted.ocsb.ca or by mailing/faxing/dropping off the registration form to the Continuing Education Department (570 West Hunt Club Road).  Registration forms are available in Student Services.  Registration runs until February 16th.  Classes at St. Mother Teresa High School will run on Wednesdays, from 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm. First class is February 28th. 

High school students who would like to schedule an appointment with their Guidance Counsellor:  please be sure to check your my.mths.ca account regularly to see when your appointment is.  (MB 26 Jan)

OCSB Baysitting Course: Our OCSB Continuing and Community Education Department is offering the Canada Safety Council babysitting training course at our school for the winter 2018 session. Dates are: Saturday, January 13th, February 3rd or March 3rd, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.  The cost is $70. Students must be 12 years of age, must establish a passing grade of 75% on the final exam to receive their certificate. Students are asked to bring their own lunch and snacks to the class. The Milk Bag Club will be meeting on Thursdays from 11:30 am to 12 noon. These are the dates for this school year:  January 18, 2018; February 15, 2018; March 8 2018; April 19, 2018; April 26, 2018; May 17, 2018 and May 24, 2018.
