The Learning Commons Photo Booth is back! Students and staff are welcome to take a selfie in front
of our Christmas tree and/or in front of our Green Screen (Seminar Room).

LC Makerspace Christmas Cards: Our Makerspace greeting card station is back in time
for Christmas. Feel free to drop by the Learning Commons to create your own card
either with your teacher as a classroom activity or on your own/with your
friends during lunch, before school, or during your spare. Card making starts
on Monday, December 18th and runs until Friday, December 22nd. Happy Creating! (NBD Dec. 22)
A quick reminder to all students that you are
more than welcome to drop by the Learning Commons any day this week to sign out
a book or two to read over the Christmas holidays. Also, our ebooks and

Attention Skiers and Snowboarders:: Aren't you excited for all this
snow!? Can you not wait to get out on the slopes? Ski and snowboard club
applications are available in the office. It will run all Wednesdays in
February: (7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th) Please pick up the information package in

Looking
for Math Enrichment opportunities in our community? If so, Carleton
University's Math Enrichment Centre is offering a new course: Math
Connections in Arts, Science and Beyond, for Grade 8 to 10 students. Classes
will run from Sept. 26, 2017 to April 2018
on Tuesday evenings from 6 - 7:30 PM. Course

7/8 Boys
Floor Ball: Any grade 7/8 boys interesting in playing floor ball hockey
this year is invited to the first tryouts Monday, January 8th 2018. For
more information, come see Mme Côté. (MC Dec. 22)
The Learning Commons' clubs have begun,
but new members are always welcome. The
Makerspace and Red Maple books clubs start at the beginning of the lunch period
and students are asked to bring their lunches with them.
- The Makerspace club is
a fun club that includes crafts, Lego, knitting and so much more. This
club will meet Tuesdays for Grade 7s and Thursdays for Grade 8s.
- Our Red Maple book
club will meet every Friday at lunch. This year's club
will be reading up to 10 Canadian Fiction selections selected specifically
for students in grades 7 and 8. The titles have been announced and will be
discussed at this week's meeting.
The
Learning Commons lunch passes: Please stop at the Learning
Commons' main desk, before 8:35am, and sign out your pass for the
day.

Cappies: thank you to the Cappies
for doing a fantastic job on Friday night. Set up was amazingly smooth and take
down quick and efficient. A shout out to the actors who helped out after their top
notch performance in A Christmas Carol. (JS Dec. 22)
All High School Cross Country Runners can pick
up an order form for a hoodie anytime this week. The deadline to order
is Friday, December
22nd.
The deadline to pay is January 12. Please see
Mrs. Galbraith in Room 304 to pick up the form. (MG Dec. 22)

Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.
The Milk Bag Club will be meeting
on Thursdays from 11:30 am to 12 noon.
These are the dates for this school year: January 18, 2018; February
15, 2018; March 8 2018; April 19, 2018; April 26, 2018; May
17, 2018 and May 24, 2018.
