Virtual Ventures will be hosting Go Eng Girl again
this year for girls in grades 7-10 on Saturday, October 14,
2017 (9:00am-2:00pm)!
Go ENG Girl is a unique opportunity for female students in
Grades 7 to 10 and their parents to learn about careers in the
exciting field of engineering and technology. We are very excited to be hosting
a Panel of Women from Shopify to answer questions
and speak to what it’s like to be a women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
& Math) at one of Canada’s most successful tech companies! Registration

Looking for Math Enrichment opportunities in our community? If so,
Carleton University's Math Enrichment Centre is offering a new course: Math
Connections in Arts, Science and Beyond, for Grade 8 to 10 students. Classes
will run from Sept. 26, 2017 to April
2018 on Tuesday evenings
from 6 - 7:30 PM. Course

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
All grade 7 students are invited to the annual St. Mother Teresa Honk N' Blow on Thursday, September 21st from 6
to 8pm. Come try all the instruments that you may chose to play in
your Music class. There is no charge for this event.

7/8 student council: We
are looking for two leaders per classroom to be a part of 7/8 Student Council
to represent the 7/8s in fun activities throughout the year. If

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Attention all
H.S. students. The weight room (room 131) is now open
from 11:50 to 12:10 everyday. Come on in for a quick workout! (LV Sept.20)
Senior Boys Soccer: Try-outs for the Senior Boys'
Soccer team will be held on Tuesday September 12th
from 3-4 across the street beside the baseball diamond. Proper
equipment is required. Please see Mr. Gervasi in room 309 if there are
any questions. (MG Sept. 12)
Sr. Boys
Volleyball: There will be a quick meeting Monday, September 11th
during high school lunch in front of the woodfloor gym to determine if
there is enough interest to run a senior team. Please be prompt. (KB Sept. 11)
Junior Boys
Soccer: Any grade 9/10 boys interested in trying out
for the Junior Boys Soccer team is asked to attend a meeting at lunch 11:25 am on Monday, September 11th
2017 - if you have any questions see Mr. Rowley in room 136. (MR Sept. 11)
Do you like to travel? Any students
interested in hearing about the Eurotrip to Italy, Switzerland and Germany this
year - please come to room 230 Monday, September 11th
at lunch. Bring your lunch and learn more about the itinerary,

High School Cross
Country Running: This is an invitation for all
students grade 9 through 12 to sign up for the High School Cross Country Team on Thursday at lunch in room
304. If you cannot make the meeting, you can sign up in room 304
before or after school and near the beginning or end of lunch. Running
will start on Monday Sept. 11th! Please see Mrs.

SMT Golf Team 2017: If anyone is interested in joining the Golf team,
please sign up on Friday at
lunch in room 310. Boys and girls teams need to be filled. (PC Sep 8)
Junior Girls Basketball: Anyone
interested in trying out for the Junior Girls Basketball Team is invited to
come to the first tryout on Thursday, September 7th at 3:00 in the Caf.Gym. (CH Sept. 7)
HS Leadership Camp: A reminder to all HS Leadership Camp campers that your
second payment of $75 is due by September 12th.
Please pay online or with cash/cheque. Please see Mrs. Byrne in Student

High School
Schedule Changes: High School students who are looking for a schedule change, must see a
Guidance Counsellor in the Atrium at lunch on Tuesday, September 5th or Wednesday, September 6th.
Guidance appointments can be requested through my.mths.ca starting Thursday, September 7th. Students
must remain in their current classes until a new schedule has been re-assigned.
The last day to request a schedule
change is Monday, September 11th! (
HS Girls Field
Hockey: Any High School girls interested in joining this year's
Girls Field Hockey team are asked to come to
back-to-back try-outs on Wednesday, September
6th and Thursday September 7th. Past years' players are required to
try-out. No equipment necessary to try-out, however please wear regular
phys-ed attire and running shoes. Meet in room 234 prior to heading outside.
See Mme Pendergest in room 234 for more information if needed. (CP Sept. 8)
Leadership Camp Campers: There will be a
meeting for all high school Leadership Camp campers Friday, September 8th at lunch in the Chapel.
Attendance is mandatory. (CV Sept. 8)
New York City 2018: Any grade 11 or 12
student interested in the NEW YORK CITY trip this
coming May 2018 is asked to attend a very important meeting at 11:30am (lunch)
on Friday, September 8th 2017 in Room 136 - please be on
time. If you have any questions or concerns see Mr. Rowley. (MR Sept. 8)
