Mini Enrichment is fast approaching (May 1-5). Participants should be checking with teachers
prior to, to discuss what they will be missing. Each university has an
orientation day, students have been provided with this info. www.emcp-pmce.ca has a
section with Information and FAQ. Parents should contact the school if their
child will be absent from mini enrichment. Classes run from 9-3
daily. Please see Mrs. Chiasson in Rm 130 if you have any questions. (NC April 28)
Multicultural Show:
Any students (Grade 7 to 12) interested in participating in this year's
Multicultural Show on Wednesday, May 24th are
asked to sign up for auditions outside the dance room. Individuals and group
acts are welcome to audition during HS lunch and after school on Monday May 1 and Wednesday May 3, 2017. (AB

At the end of the day,
the expectation for students who are not involved in any extracurricular
activities, is that students leave the building and make their way home.
Students who wish to remain after school to watch a school sporting event, are
also expected to leave immediately after the game. Make sure
transportation arrangements are made in advance. In the future, students
who are found loitering around the school at the end of the day will formally
speak to an administrator. (MK)

is permitted on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the new wing which is the 7/8

Costa Rica 2018:
All students interested in going on
the Costa Rica experience of a lifetime Feb. 2018 please come to
an information session at 11:30 am on Friday, April 28th in
room 131 (the new fitness room). This trip is for you if you enjoy
adventure and the outdoors. Please see Mrs. Ragaisis if you have any

STUDENT SERVICES
The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool,
including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses,
Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.
There will be an information meeting for Dual Credit at 11:30 in
the Career Centre in Student Services on Tuesday May 2. Dual Credit
is for students going into grades 11 and 12 next year. It gives students an
opportunity to take a course at Algonquin College and earn a high school and
college credit. The course usually runs once a week. For more info; pick up a

Registration is open from May 1-19 and must be done through a

Careers
for women within the Canadian Armed Forces. The Canadian Forces Recruiting
Centre Detachment Ottawa is inviting you to a "Women in the Canadian
Armed Forces" information session Saturday, May 6, 2017;
Cartier Square Drill Hall, 2 Queen Elizabeth Drive, Ottawa. English
presentation is 10:00 am to 11:30 am. French presentation is

There
will be an opportunity to test your physical fitness through the FORCE

The YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national exchange
program offering opportunities for youth to gain valuable work experience,
explore another part of Canada and improve their second official language
skills, all for the cost of $100 (travel and activity costs are all covered by
the program!). More specifically, it is a 6-week summer program for
16- and 17-year-old youth. In Ontario, each English-speaking participant
is matched with a French-speaking participant from Québec and the two youth are
hosted in one another’s homes to deepen their cultural experience. Youth are
also provided with a full-time summer job in the non-profit sector.
During weekends, the youth will join their Local YMCA Coordinator in group
activities to explore their new community and form lasting memories. Please sign up in Student Services

Summer School Registration forms
from the Ottawa Catholic School Board are now available in Student Services. Registration period is
from May 1 to June 28. Final registration date is Wednesday,
June 28, from 9am to 1pm at St. Nicholas Adult High School (West
Campus) 893 Admiral Avenue.
Forms
must be completed/signed by student and parent and then approved by a Student
Services counsellor. Summer school locations are Holy Trinity HS,
Immaculata HS, St. Pius X HS and L.B. Pearson HS. L.B. Pearson has online

The Irish Experience Summer Programs in Ireland. 27 days in
duration and offers 110 hours of instructional time to fulfill requirements of

LF Volunteers: Charity
Barbeque for Threads of Life. Threads of Life is a
National Charity that provides help and support to families who have had a
loved one killed or injured in a workplace accident. Come out and support a
great cause and get some community service hours. Barbeque is Saturday, May 13th
at the M&M Meat Shop in Manotick from 11:00am-3:00pm. If interested please

ES is having their Spring Fling on Friday, May 5th from 3:30 pm
to 8:00 pm and Saturday, May 6th, from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm.

this weekend! On Sunday,
April 30th, the Kidney Foundation is assisting an Alive to Strive event and they
need volunteers. Location is Hogs Back Park, Hogs Back Road. You

Also, you will need to go to the Terry Fox Athletic Facility to sign in (2960

- Games and crafts:
Supervise the children’s area and help them make crafts and play games
- Greet visitors: Put
on a big smile and welcome the visitors to the Mill.
- Answer questions:
Walk around the event and be prepared to answer any questions visitors might have.
- Set up and take down:
Help set up tables, arrange the tent, get it ready for the meal.
- Serve food &
clearing tables: Help serve a delicious meal to our visitors and clear tables
for the next round.
- Serve cake to those
who did not purchase tickets to the meal.
- Decorations: Let your
artistic side show and help decorate the tent and the Square

Christie Lake Kids Camp is looking to hire staff for this summer. This is a
summer volunteer position. The position is open to youth aged 15-17.
Students receive extensive training to work with at-risk children and youth in
a residential environment while earning first aid and swimming certifications,
650 volunteer hours are also awarded for each summer of work. Please see
the Student Services Bulletin Board in the atrium for more information and
