WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

SPEAK UP: Would you like to have a voice in your education? We are looking for 30 students to participate in a "Speak Up Forum" here at Mother Teresa High School on April 21, 2017. Please see Mrs. Brady in room 201 for more information. (AB)

INSIDE RIDE: Hey Titans! The INSIDE RIDE is coming up fast so come to room 305 during homeroom to pick up your team package. Get your friends together for a team to help out this great cause! (EB April 14)

At the end of the day, the expectation for students who are not involved in any extracurricular activities, is that students leave the building and make their way home.  Students who wish to remain after school to watch a school sporting event, are also expected to leave immediately after the game.  Make sure transportation arrangements are made in advance.  In the future, students who are found loitering around the school at the end of the day will formally speak to an administrator. During the lunch period, no High School student is permitted on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the new wing which is the 7/8 classroom areas. (MK)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ambassador Meeting: There will be an ambassadors meeting at 12:40 on Tuesday April 11th. Eat your lunch first then head to the chapel. (TC April 11)

Every Wednesday in April is WASTE FREE LUNCH DAY. For a chance to win a prize....if you have a waste free lunch, find the waste free lunch police at the table near the vending machines before you eat. Attention all cast, choir, dancers and crew of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown".  There will be a run through practice on Saturday April 22nd from 9:00am-1:00pm. A pot luck lunch will be organized.  Please see Mrs De Pippo ASAP if you have any concerns. (JD April 21)

The university of Waterloo math contest for grades 7 and 8 will be written at MT in mid may.  Practices will be Tuesday at lunch in room 240.  Anyone who enjoys problem solving should participate.  You do NOT have to have the highest marks in the class.  Come out and give it a try!! Please register with Mrs Lindale in room 240 before Friday this week, there is a 4$ registration fee that will be returned to you the day you write. (HL April 11)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention all boys wanting to play varsity baseball for MT.  There will be a meeting on Thursday at lunch in Portable 1 to express interest and provide information for the upcoming season. (LB April 13)

Any High School girls basketball players interested in assisting as referees for the Elementary Girls Basketball Tournament being held on Wednesday, April 12th, at St. Andrews Elementary, are asked to speak with Mr. Liska on Friday of this week. (JL April 12)

Girls Touch Football: Any High School girls interested in trying out for touch football are asked to sign up outside of room 110.  Training sessions are going to run from 3:00-4:30 on the following dates--Tuesday, April 11   (Wood Floor Gym), Thursday, April 13 (Wood Floor Gym), Tuesday, April 18 (Caf Gym) and Friday, April 21 (Caf Gym) (MP April 21)

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Interested in US colleges?  Register to attend the US College Expo, taking place on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the National Gallery of Canada.  6pm-7pm US college admissions panel discussion, 7pm - 9pm public exhibit.  Please register at uscollegeexpo.com (KW May 3)

Registration forms for the Winter 2017 Night School Program with the public board are now available in Student
Services.  Once you have completed your form and have signatures from your counsellor and parent along with your student status sheet, you must register in person at 440 Albert Street from Monday, January 23rd to Thursday, February 16th.   The registration office is open from January 23rd to Thursday, February 16th from 9 am to 4 pm.  The office will close at 6pm on Jan 26th/Feb 2nd/Feb 9th and 7:30 on Feb 16th.  The Winter session runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9:51pm.  First night is Tuesday, February 21st and last night is Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Woodroffe HS (2410 Georgina Drive)

The Milk Bags 4 Haiti Club meets on Wednesdays at senior lunch time in the career centre. We are in need of specific milk bags to continue our mats project. The Irish Experience Summer Programs in Ireland.  27 days in duration and offers 110 hours of instructional time to fulfill requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum requirements. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers needed for the Nepean Eagles Football Club.  LF cheerleading coaches to teach cheers and half-time dance routines to junior and senior squads.  Spring Camp is May 23, 24, 25th. LF Volunteers : Watson’s Mill on Sunday June 4th Our event Gathering in the Square: Celebrating 150 years of Canada. (KW June 4 )
 Here are some of the things you might be asked to do:
-           Games and crafts: Supervise the children’s area and help them make crafts and play games
-           Greet visitors: Put on a big smile and welcome the visitors to the Mill.
-           Answer questions: Walk around the event and be prepared to answer any questions visitors might                     have.
-           Set up and take down: Help set up tables, arrange the tent, get it ready for the meal.
-           Serve food & clearing tables: Help serve a delicious meal to our visitors and clear tables for the next                 round.
-           Serve cake to those who did not purchase tickets to the meal.
-           Decorations: Let your artistic side show and help decorate the tent and the Square

Christie Lake Kids Camp is looking to hire staff for this summer.  This is a summer volunteer position. The position is open to youth aged 15-17.  Students receive extensive training to work with at-risk children and youth in a residential environment while earning first aid and swimming certifications, 650 volunteer hours are also awarded for each summer of work.  Please see the Student Services Bulletin Board in the atrium for more information and application.

Attention all Grads!  Are you planning to go to this year's prom? If so, you must register online through my.mths to indicate seating preferences, guests, and vote for Prom King and Queen. Once you've registered, you may purchase your ticket online as of Friday, March 10. Tickets are $85 each and will be on sale in the atrium during the week of April 3-7 if you want to pay with cash or cheque.  All ticket sales will be closed on Friday, April 7th. (CH April 7)
