HS Day 1
WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Remember to bring your money! The ESL students are having a bake
sale on Friday for our Lenten Project - Women at the Heart of Change
- Development and Peace! Come and taste delicious goodies from around
the World! (JB March 19)
At the end of the day, the expectation for students who are not involved
in any extracurricular activities is that students leave the building and make
their way home. Students who wish to remain after school to watch a
school sporting event, are also expected to leave immediately after the
game. Make sure transportation arrangements are made in advance. In
the future, students who are found loitering around the school at the end of
the day will formally speak to an administrator. (MK)
Please check the items in the lost
and found display from Monday to Friday (Mar 6 - 10). Items
will be donated to charity on Friday after school. (SS March

From Thursday March 2nd
until Friday March 10th yearbooks will be on sale in the Atrium at
lunch. We normally sell 700 books and this year 500 have been ordered.
Everyone who normally orders a yearbook come down and check to see if you are
on the list. There will be no extras in

This is an invitation for any student (grade 7-12) or staff member
interested in taking part in a social justice lenten project. We will
meet in the chapel from 3-4pm on Tuesday, February
28th to discuss Share
Lent 2017 (a Development and Peace initiative). (HL/Dr Joe)
During the
lunch period, no High School student
is permitted on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the new wing which is the 7/8

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Red Maple club will
be meeting at the start of lunch in the Learning Commons on Friday, March
10th. Please bring your lunch. New members are welcome. (NBD March 10)
7/8 Ecoteam: This is a reminder
that grade 7/8 ecoteam meets at lunch on
Thursdays in room 240. All grade 7/8 students interested in being
good environmental stewards are invited to attend. (HL April 7)
Mini enrichment - students wishing to withdraw from mini enrichment must
do so by Friday March 10th. To do so use your username and password
to withdraw online. You must bring the signed paperwork to Mrs. Chiasson in
room 130 by Friday for the withdrawal to be approved. (NC March 10)
Attention 7/8 girls hockey team members. Please check your email
regarding a google form that needs to be completed by Friday March
10. This form will confirm your availability for the exhibition game and
the tournament. (TQ March 10)

Peer Helpers: Our next Peer Helper meeting will be Friday March 24th at

A reminder that the final payment,
photocopy of valid passport, and travel insurance verification for this year's New York City Trip is due
before Friday, March 24th 2017 -

The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) is Thursday,
March 30 2017, which is a graduation requirement for all students
working towards a secondary school diploma. All students in Ontario will
be writing in paper booklets this March. Test preparation will be held
for all grade 10 students, as well as for students in grade 11 and 12 who will
be writing the test on March 27-29 during their period 3

Grade
12 students & parents: It is a
very busy time for grade 12's. There are a number of you that have yet to sign
up for the REMIND texts. This is a key tool for us sharing information. If you
are not receiving these texts, you are missing important information including
Graduation Info, Grad tickets, scholarship info, Prom details, etc.

LF tutor

The Milk Bags 4
Haiti Club meets on Wednesdays at senior lunch time in the
career centre. We are in need of specific
milk bags to continue our mats project. If you have any of the following milk bags at home that you are willing

The Irish
Experience Summer Programs in Ireland. 27 days
in duration and offers 110 hours of instructional time to fulfill requirements

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteer Hour Opportunity during March
Break. A non-profit organization is looking for help with a history
digitization project. You need to be comfortable on a computer. Time slots
are Monday to Friday from 8:00-4:00, you must make a

Break Programming for kids ages 8-12. Previous experience working with

Christie Lake
Kids Camp is looking to hire staff for this summer. This is a summer volunteer position. The position is open to
youth aged 15-17. Students receive extensive training to work with
at-risk children and youth in a residential environment while earning first aid
and swimming certifications, 650 volunteer hours are also awarded for each
summer of work. Please see the Student Services Bulletin Board in the
