ANNOUNCEMENTS
Any student who missed one or more of the three
ski days must apply for a refund. Please pick up the refund request sheet
in the office, and hand it into Ms. Morency by Tuesday, March 28th.

At the end of the day, the expectation for students
who are not involved in any extracurricular activities, is that students leave
the building and make their way home. Students who wish to remain after
school to watch a school sporting event, are also expected to leave immediately
after the game. Make sure transportation arrangements are made in
advance. In the future, students who are found loitering around the
school at the end of the day will formally speak to an administrator. (MK)
During the lunch period, no High School student
is permitted on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the new wing which is the 7/8
classroom areas. (MK)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
Any student who has signed up for stage crew
for this year's production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" are
asked to attend a meeting at lunch on Monday, March 27th in room 333. (JD March 27)
The Red Maple club will be meeting at the
start of lunch in the Learning Commons on Friday, March 24th. Please bring
your lunch. (NBD March 23)
7/8 University of
Waterloo Gauss Math Contest sign up and first practice will
be held on Tuesday, March 28th from 12:20-
1:00(lunch) in room 240. Any 7/8 student
with an interest in problem solving or a love for math should try it. You do
NOT have to be the student with the highest marks in the class to do well! (HL March 28)
Makerspace
Club: Due to popular demand, two Makerspace Clubs will begin running this week. Grade 7s members are asked to meet
at lunch on
Tuesday and grade 8
members are asked to meet at lunch on Thursday. Don't
forget to bring your lunch with you. (NBD March 23)
7/8 Ecoteam: This is a reminder
that grade 7/8 ecoteam meets at lunch on Thursdays in room 240.
All grade 7/8 students interested in being good environmental stewards are
invited to attend. (HL April 7)
Grade 7/8 students interested in participating on
the MT Math Olympics Team are invited to meet in room 240 Tuesday at the beginning of lunch for our first
practice. Practices will be held Tuesday at lunch and Wednesday after school. The Olympics are scheduled for March

A reminder that the final payment, photocopy of valid passport, and
travel insurance verification for this year's New York City Trip is
due before Friday, March 24th 2017 - if you have any questions
or are ready to hand in these required items see Mr. Rowley in Room 136. (MR March 24)
The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)
is Thursday, March 30 2017, which is a graduation requirement
for all students working towards a secondary school diploma. All
students in Ontario will be writing in paper booklets this March. Test
preparation will be held for all grade 10 students, as well as for students in
grade 11 and 12 who will be writing the test on March 27-29 during
their period 3 class. Practice tests and more information can be

STUDENT SERVICES
The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool,
including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses,
Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.
LF tutor (Science and English, a little French too) 2X a week. Student
is in Grade 9. House is located on Daventry Crescent. Please call 613-302-9989. (KW)
LF a tutor, Tuesday and Thursday evenings
(1 hr each night) to help with homework in Math, English and French. The
student is female and attends M.P. Baxter school. Please contact Ms. Young

Registration forms for the Winter 2017 Night School
Program with the public board are now
available in Student
Services. Once you have completed your form
and have signatures from your counsellor and parent along with your student
status sheet, you must register in person at 440 Albert Street
from Monday, January 23rd to Thursday, February 16th. The
registration office is open from January 23rd to Thursday, February
16th from 9 am to 4 pm. The office will close
at 6pm on Jan 26th/Feb 2nd/Feb
9th and 7:30 on Feb 16th. The Winter session
runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm to
9:51pm. First night is Tuesday, February 21st and last night
is Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Woodroffe HS (2410 Georgina Drive)
LF a french tutor for a Grade 5 immersion student who attends Msgr
Paul Baxter School, to tutor twice a week. Tutor for community service

The Milk Bags 4 Haiti Club meets on Wednesdays at senior lunch
time in the career centre. We are in need of specific milk bags to
continue our mats project. If you have any of the following milk bags at home

Christie Lake Kids Camp is looking to hire staff for this summer. This is a
summer volunteer position. The position is open to youth aged 15-17.
Students receive extensive training to work with at-risk children and youth in
a residential environment while earning first aid and swimming certifications,
650 volunteer hours are also awarded for each summer of work. Please see
the Student Services Bulletin Board in the atrium for more information and application.

Attention all Grads! Are you planning to go to this year's prom?
If so, you must register online through my.mths to indicate
seating preferences, guests, and vote for Prom King and Queen. Once you've
registered, you may purchase your ticket online as of Friday, March 10.
Tickets are $85 each and will be on sale in the atrium during the week
of April 3-7 if you want to pay with cash or cheque. All ticket
