GIRLS AND BOYS TOUCH FOOTBALL PRACTICE ---cancelled for this week. Please see Ms. Brownrigg's door for next practice--it will be sometime next week. (Apr 22)

ST BRIGID'S CAMP REGISTRATION REMINDER: This Saturday, April 25 from 8:00am to 10:30am at St. John the Apostle Church on Baseline Road. At the request of the church, please do not arrive before 6:30am. (Apr 23)

DRAMA EXPRESSIONS WORKSHOP: The following students, T.D. (7-09), A.H. (7-01), J.S. (8-02), S.C. (8-06) and K.S., are reminded of this workshop being held on Monday, April 27th. Please meet Ms. Byrne in the atrium by 8:30 to catch the bus. The bus will arrive back to the school at 4 o'clock, and lunch will be served at the workshop. ATTENTION GRADE 8 STUDENTS: Would you like to help plan events for students and provide feedback from your peers to the school. Then you should be part of the Mother Teresa Student Executive Council. For more information on being a Grade Representative, and to pick-up an application package, please come to Room 320 on Tuesday April 28 at the beginning of 7/8 lunch. If you are not able to attend this meeting, please see Mrs. Robinson in Room 301 on either Monday or Tuesday morning. (Apr 28)

MATH OLYMPICS PARTICIPANTS: Could all students attending the Math Olympics this Saturday, please meet Ms. Stuart, Thursday, April 23 in room 240 at the beginning of lunch. Please bring your lunch as you will be going to the cafeteria after the brief meeting. (Apr 23)

7/8 BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM: A reminder for the Boys 7/8 Basketball team about their game TODAY at Holy Trinity. Teachers: Please allow the members of the team to leave early (2:20) to catch the bus for their game. Students: Arrange to be picked up at Mother Teresa anytime after 5:30. (Apr 22)

REACH FOR THE TOP: For your game on Thursday, April 23, be in Room 233 at 12:50 as the Awesome Possums take on the Fab 4. ALL members of Reach for the Top are welcome to come watch! (Apr 23)

7/8 Girls Basketball Team: Reminder: Away game TODAY, and practice on Thursday. Play-offs start next week. (Apr 23)

7/8 BAND: A reminder to all Band students that your consent forms are now due. Please bring your forms to the music room immediately after the announcements. Also, there is a band council meeting today during 7/8 lunch in the music room. (Apr 22)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN FOOLISHNESS? Shakespeare? Comedy? Come get your tickets to the "A Company of Fools" production, Interactive Shakespeare! $2 gets you in to see the show during period 4 on May 8. ATTENTION STUDENTS IN GRADES 9 TO 11: Do you have what it takes to be a leader in the school? Do you have ideas that no one hears? As a member of the Mother Teresa Student Executive Council your voice is heard! The information meeting for all applicants for next year's council will be held on Monday April 27 and Tuesday April 28 in Room 301 at the beginning of senior lunch. You only need to attend ONE meeting. Come next week and find out what it means to be a valued member of Student Council. (Apr 28)

CAPPIES are reminded to vote on Saturday, May 9 at the Confederation Education Centre, next to Sportsplex on Woodroffe. Please check the voting schedule for your specific time. (May 8)

MARINE BIOLOGY TRIP: All students registered in grade 12 biology next year are invited to sign up to attend an information meeting on Wednesday April 29th at 11:45 in room 202 regarding next year's 5-day biology trip to St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, New Brunswick in September 2009. A sign up sheet is posted outside room 202. Don't be disappointed...sign up today! (Apr 29)

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WHO HAVE SELECTED CO-OP ON THEIR OPTION SHEET FOR NEXT YEAR: Please submit your completed application form, co-op fee ($20) and resume to Student Services or Mrs. O’Sullivan in room 111. Students who have submitted their required paperwork are now being processed and could be called for a preliminary interview at any time. Spots are filling up fast so don’t miss out on a job opportunity that could change your future. (Apr 23)

ATTENTION ALL CO-OP STUDENTS! This is a reminder that the Co-op Career Fair will take place in the Atrium on Thursday April 23 from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please report to the Atrium at 12:30 to set up your project board. All morning and afternoon co-op students must be present for the fair. Classroom visits to the fair will start to arrive at 1:00. Morning students should go to their co-op placement in the morning unless other arrangements have been made with Mrs. O’Sullivan. (Apr 23)

STRATFORD 2009: Please submit your second deposit this week to Mrs. Simpson in Rm 138. ONE spot is left available for the Stratford trip in October of 2009. See Mrs. Simpson in Rm 138 to claim this spot. (Apr 23)

BLOOD DONOR CLINIC: Students interested in donating blood at the Mother Teresa Blood Donor Clinic (May 1st) can do so in their Homeroom (speak to your HR teacher). Students who do not have a class period 1 can see Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130 to sign up for the clinic. Minimum age is 17 years. (Apr 27)

SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION: Registration forms are now available for students interested in taking summer school courses during July. There are make up courses and reach ahead courses for high school students as well as numeracy/literacy courses for students in Grades 7, 8 & 9. If you are interested, please pick up a form and info package in the Student Services office. (Apr. 23)

THE OTTAWA CITIZEN CAREER FAIR: Ottawa Hampton Inn and Conference Centre on April 28, 2009. Entrance is free and includes Conferences through the day. We will spotlight careers in Engineering and Hi-Tech, as well as General Career Openings. Exhibitors include: Public Works, RCMP, the Canadian Forces, Ottawa Citizen and many more. VOLUNTEER HOURS: Farley Mowat Public School is hosting a Family Mayfair on Saturday, May 30 from 10-2pm. Volunteers are needed to work from 8 am to 4 pm at the concession stands, bake sale, ticket sales, BBQ and games for all ages.
