URGENT! LOOKING FOR BILLETS: We are looking for families to take in visiting students from the St. Michael's Choir School, May 11-13. This involves taking in 2 or more choir boys, ranging in age from 12 - 18 into your home. More detailed information should be posted in your homeroom. VACCINATION CLINIC: This is a reminder to all grade 7 students, and to grade 8 girls, that our final vaccination clinic will take place during the morning of Friday May 1. This will be the second/final immunization for all grade 7's for Hepatitis B and the third/final immunization for grade 8 girls for HPV. Students are reminded to have a good breakfast on Friday to be ready for the clinic. (Apr 30)

WRITERS! Submissions are now being accepted for the 2nd Annual Mother Teresa Writing Anthology. Have your writing published! Prizes will be given out for the best poem, the best short story and the best alternative writing (visual poetry, scripts, lyrics etc.). We are also looking for someone to create the best cover design. Artwork to accompany writing may also be submitted. Please give your writing to Mrs. Earle or Mrs. Zivkovic by May 21, 2009. (May 1)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Royal City Soccer Club is looking for summer camp volunteers, CITs and camp counsellors. Locations served are Jockvale P.S. Field (Nepean), A.Y. Jackson S.S. Field (Kanata) and Brewer Park (Ottawa). Pamphlet and applications can be found in Student Services. (May 15)

VOLUNTEER HOURS: Farley Mowat Public School is hosting a Family Mayfair on Saturday, May 30 from 10-2pm. Volunteers are needed to work from 8 am to 4 pm at the concession stands, bake sale, ticket sales, BBQ and games for all ages. STUDENTS GOING INTO SCIENCE AT CARLETON: The Faculty of Science is holding a specialty tour on Saturday, May 2 for students who’ve applied and are interested in attending Carleton University in the fall 2009. Students and their parents are invited to meet with faculty members and students from the Faculty of Science before the first-year labs tour. We will also be offering general campus tours following the science laboratories tour. (May 1)
ATTENTION GRADUATES: The Sylvester Quinn Memorial Award in the amount of $1000 is awarded to one graduating student in each Ottawa Catholic High School to assist in pursuing a post-secondary education. The criteria for this award is service to others, scholastic achievement, need for financial assistance and strong moral and ethical values. Applications are available from the Student Services Department. (May 1)
GRADUATES APPLYING TO ALGONQUIN COLLEGE: The Sens Foundation in partnership with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club has established ten scholarships of $1000 each for students planning to attend Algonquin College. For criteria information and an application, go to Student Services. (May 1)
THE BLACK CANADIAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND ($5000 BURSARY): Criteria: Black Canadian graduating from an Ottawa high school with a minimum of 75% in top 6 grade 12 courses. Must demonstrate financial need and community involvement. Visit www.bcsf.ca for the application. (May 8)
