REACH FOR THE TOP: Congratulations to the Mother Teresa Reach Travelling Team who recently won 5 of 6 matches in qualifying play at the annual City of Ottawa Reach for the Top Tournament. The squad, currently ranked 6th among 21 area schools, will now advance to the final championship round in April. Best of luck to Captain Mitch Kearney and his band of merry trivia gurus - Will Onyeaju, Ben "Cousteau" Dean, James Munn, Bryn Belanger, and Ben Kellar- in their quest for gold. (Apr 3)

WRITING COMPETITION: Students who want to enter the Carleton University English Department's writing competition can drop off their submissions to Mrs. Simpson in Room 138. They will be sent to the university before the May 1 deadline. Please fill in an entry form. Poems, scripts, essays and short stories are all welcome! (Apr 3)

SHAKIN' IT WITH SHAKESPEARE: You are invited to submit a mural design for the first floor, new wing hall. The mural must celebrate Shakespeare and incorporate ideas, images or scenes from Shakespeare's plays. It also must have an image of Shakespeare and incorporate a relevant quotation from one of his plays. Please give your design idea to Mrs. Simpson in Room 138 by April 3. (Apr. 3)

CHESS/CHECKERS CLUB: Hey Titans! If chess, checkers, or even backgammon, is your game, then this club is for you. We will be starting a Chess/Checkers club this week. No experience necessary. Even if you have never played, then this is the perfect opportunity to learn. Every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch you are welcome to bring your lunch to Room 300 and play a game or two. Any board game is welcome. Please bring your own boards for the next week or so. All grades are welcome. (Apr 9)

SWEETS FOR SUDAN (GRADES 7-12): Anyone who would like to help support the Genocide Intervention Network by volunteering at a Mother Teresa Charity Bake Sale on Tuesday, April 21st, please go to Student Services after school and/or speak with student Sarah Wilgress. (Apr 17)

ATTENTION INTERESTED VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER PLAYERS: Please sign up outside Miss. Kuchma's Phys-ed Office if you are interested in trying out for the Varsity Girls Soccer Team. Mandatory tryouts will take place on Wednesday April 8 at 7:25 AM INSIDE and then Tuesday April 14th and Wednesday April 15th at 3:15 PM OUTSIDE. If for any reason you cannot be there, please talk to Ms. Gervais or Miss. Kuchma. Please be on time and dressed to play. (Apr 15)

GRAD RINGS: Now is the time to order your Class of 2009 graduation ring. Representatives from Jostens will be here to take orders on Monday and Tuesday April 6th & 7th at lunchtime. A $40 deposit is all that is required. Catalogues are now available in Student Services. (Apr 7)

RONA IS HIRING! Rona on Hunt Club Road is hiring cashiers immediately for evening and weekends as well as part time for the summer. Applications can be found in Student Services. You can drop your application and resume off at the customer service desk at Rona. (Apr 7)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: The Queensway Carleton Hospital is looking for student volunteers for this summer. Applicants must be 15 years old by Dec. 31, 2009 and have completed Grade 9. Any interested student will be required to attend a "Volunteer Information Session" at QCH where more information will be provided.
