Day 2 - H.S. & Day 2 - Gr. 7 & 8


STAND UP TO BULLYING: There will be a very important meeting TODAY in the Career Centre from 11:45-12:15. Bring your lunch.

CO-OP STUDENTS: Please check your folder in Student Services. There are messages and marked assignments waiting to be picked up. In addition, Thursday March 26 is an in-school co-op day in Room 318. Your employer evaluations (PPLPs) are also due on that day. Please ask your employer to give you your evaluation so that you can bring it to class with you. Check your schedule to see what assignments are due on that day. (Mar 25)

HIGH SCHOOL INTRAMURAL SOCCER: Registration forms are now available on the Phys-Ed Office door for indoor soccer. All registration forms and money are due by this Friday, March 27th. The season will begin next week! (Mar 27)

DO YOU NEED YOUR INCOME TAXES FILED FOR THIS YEAR?? Did you know that if you were 16 or older on Dec. 31 of 2008, you might be entitled to receive $100 from the government even if you didn’t work? Come to Room 216 after school to meet with the Grade 12 accounting tax experts or talk to Mr. Baldin. (Mar 31)

LIVE-IT UP - There will be an important meeting for all Live It Up members on Thursday March 26th during high school lunch. The meeting will start at 11:45 in the Career Center and all members are asked to attend. See you there! (Mar 26)

SHAKIN' IT WITH SHAKESPEARE: You are invited to submit a mural design for the first floor, new wing hall. The mural must celebrate Shakespeare and incorporate ideas, images or scenes from Shakespeare's plays. It also must have an image of Shakespeare and incorporate a relevant quotation from one of his plays. Please give your design idea to Mrs. Simpson in Room 138 by April 3.

STRATFORD 2009: It's not too late!! We received a short extension on our deposit. If you'd like to go to Stratford next year (October), please give your permission form and $50 to Mrs. Simpson (Rm 138) by the end of the week. We are down to only a handful of spaces so don't delay!! This trip might be of special interest to any students from this year's production of Caesar.

7/8 Girls Touch Football Try-Outs: Please sign up on Ms. McKenna's door. Try-out dates have been changed. Please stay tuned.

MTSAID: Direct and indirect costs of alcohol-related crashes are estimated to be 7.25 billion dollars annually. If you want to start a change and make a difference, sign up for our own Mother Teresa Students Against Impaired Driving (MTSAID) outside Room 311 this week.

7/8 REMINDER: Any student who has taken out an instrument is asked to return it to Room 120 tomorrow morning. (Mar 27)

ATTENTION 7/8 BARGAIN HUNTERS: The 7/8 hockey teams are having a mini-garage sale this week. Stop by the table in the cafeteria to check out the great deals. Items include X-box 360 games, sports equipment, signed Sens gear and much more. (Mar 27)

DAILY PRAYER: All Muslim students are invited to pray noon prayer in our chapel. There is a space for prayer, and we hope many students come and join in.

MINI MEDICAL SCHOOL: The University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine is offering "Mini Medical School" for the 5th consecutive year. This is a unique 6-week series of innovative & entertaining lectures on life in the ER including topics such as truama, overdose infections, suicide and heart attacks. The program runs on Thursday evenings from April 2nd to May 7th from 7:00 - 9:00pm at the Roger Guindon Hall at the U of O campus on Smyth Road. Tuition is $120 (minimum age is 14 years).
