Day 2 - H.S. & Day 1 - Gr. 7 & 8


LIBRARY CLOSURE: The library will be closed all day TODAY.

DAILY PRAYER: All Muslim students are invited to pray noon prayer in our chapel. There is a space for prayer and we hope many students come and join in.

YEARBOOK: There will be a yearbook meeting at 11:45 am TODAY in Room 103. This is the LAST CHANCE for students and teachers to bring in photos that they would like to have included in this year's yearbook. Any students who are working on page layouts or who are fixing page proofs MUST come to this meeting. Everything has to be completed by the end of the day tomorrow - Wednesday, March 11 in order to make the last deadline.

ATHLETIC COUNCIL: There will be an Athletic Council meeting this Wednesday March 11 after school in Room 135. See you there!

ATTENTION GRADE 7/8 MEMBERS OF THE BADMINTON TEAM: Please plan to attend a very important meeting in Room 234 at lunch on TODAY. Bring your lunch as we will be distributing awards & treats as well as taking a yearbook photo.

RED MAPLE CLUB: Meeting will be on Wednesday, March 11 this week.

MISSING GRAD RING - A grad ring was left in the girls’ washroom on Wednesday March 4. It has a lime green stone, a cheerleader on one side and hearts on the other. It is a 2009 ring with engraving on the inside. If found, please return it to the office. (Mar 10)

CAPPIESCHORUS: Want to perform on one of the biggest stages in North America in front of a couple of thousand adoring fans? Auditions for the 2009 Cappies Chorus will take place soon, and anyone can try out. Auditions take place Tuesday, March 3 at Merivale High School, Wed., March 4 at Lester B. Pearson High School, and Thursday, March 5 at Earl of March High School and Wed., March 11 at the National Arts Centre. You can show up at any of these auditions, which take place at 4 p.m. If you're interested, go to ottawacitizen.com/cappies for more info or talk to Mrs. Simpson in Room 138. (Mar 11)

7/8 SWIM TEAM: The MT Grade 7/8 Swim Team is back at MT! If you are interested in learning more, please come to an information session on Wednesday, March 11 at 12:37 in Room 233. Please bring your lunch and your coat as you will be going outside after the meeting. (Mar 11)

STRATFORD 2009: The Stratford trip is still on but we need 13 students to complete our crew of theatre buffs heading to Southern Ontario in October of 2009. If you're still on the fence, it's time to get off! See Mrs. Simpson in Room 138 for details. You will not regret it! (Mar 13)

WRITING COMPETITION: Carleton's English Department writing competition is accepting submissions until May. See Mrs. Simpson for entry forms and word limits. Poems, stories, literary essays and scripts are all accepted. (Mar 13)

ONTARIO LAUNCHES SUMMER JOS PROGRAMS: Ontario has a range of summer job opportunities for students, through Ontario’s Summer Jobs Programs. The Summer Jobs Service offers students free self-marketing and job search services, and offers employers a $2-per-hour wage subsidy to encourage them to hire students. These programs are open to students aged 15 to 24 years (up to 29 years for a person with a disability) who are planning to return to school this fall.
