Day 1 - H.S. & Day 3 - Gr. 7 & 8

MT STE-ANNE SKI TRIP: This is a reminder to all students going to Mt Ste-Anne this Friday that the bus leaves at 6:30 am. You must have your helmet with you unless you are renting. Don't forget to bring food for breakfast. Please see Mr. Francoeur in Room 103 if you have any questions.

PROM COMMITTEE: There will be a meeting TODAY for all prom committee members in Room 134 at 11:45am.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS RUGBY: Any High School girls interested in playing on the rugby team are invited to attend practices on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 7:15am. Please see Miss Carrie if you have any questions or if you can't make it to practice.

WHITE PINE CLUB YEARBOOK PICTURE: Drop by the library at the beginning of lunch on Thursday, February 5 for the yearbook picture.

UNIVERSITY OF WATERLOO MATH CONTESTS: Attention all students writing the math contests on February 18th. The Math Department will be holding practice sessions every Day 2 through February 17th to help students prepare for the contest. The practice sessions will take place during lunch in Room 322. All students are encouraged to attend at least ONE practice session. Please bring your lunch with you.

LIVE IT UP: There will be a meeting on Thursday at lunch in order to make posters for Dance month.

VOLUNTEER HOURS: Complete your volunteer hours during the Canadian Tulip Festival from May 1 to May 18. HIGH SCHOOL WRITING COMPETITION: Entries are being accepted by Carleton University's Department of English in the following categories: short story, poetry, play or script, or essay on literary topic. See Mrs. Simpson in Room 138 for details and entry forms. Due date is May 1.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Looking for interested Grade 11 & 12 students willing to prepare food and sandwiches at Shepherd's of Good Hope (233 Murray St) on Sunday February 22. Earn community service hours from 8 - 11am. No special skills required. Parents can participate as well. If interested, see Ms. Soprovich in Room 205 this week.

DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM: Reminder that the Driver Education Program registration forms are available in Student Services. Registrations are on-going until February 17th. Hurry in.

STRATFORD 2009: Students are reminded to bring in their forms and money for Stratford by February 11th. If you are interested in going, please see Mrs. Simpson in Room 138. 17 spots are now available.

Are you planning to begin your university studies in one of the disciplines offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences but would like to get to know the Faculty better? Would you like to spend a day on campus, attend a class, meet with an academic advisor, speak with professors, visit its residences? SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY: Come to a Parent and Student Info Night at the Lord Elgin Hotel on February 10th from 7pm - 9pm to find out about Saint Mary's University, an overview of the different programs offered, careers students can pursue with specific degrees, residence options and what living on campus has to offer. UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA: An Information Evening and Fair will be held at the University of Ottawa on Wednesday, February 18th. English presentations take place in Alumni Auditorium at 6:30pm and 7:45pm. The Spring Open House will take place on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 8am to 3pm. Highlights include tours (campus, residences, sports complexes); presentations by liaison officers; information fair offering the opportunity to meet with faculty and service representatives. MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY: A mother is looking for a male student who could be a mentor to her 7-year old son. There would be some tutoring involved but it is more of an opportunity to be a "big brother" to him. They live in Stonebridge but transportation can be arranged. This is a great opportunity to earn some community service hours. If you are interested, please sign up in the Student Services office.
