Day 1 - H.S. & Day 5 - Gr. 7 & 8

ATTENTION 7/8 STUDENTS AND TEACHERS:
Attention 7/ 8 students and teachers. The Scholastic Book Fair has arrived and will be open TODAY for classroom visits. The Book Fair will be open at 7/ 8 lunch, and after school during parent teacher interviews from 1:45 to 5:00. Here is another chance to win a $5.00 Book Fair gift certificate to spend at the Fair by answering the following trivia question: Name the three titles of the Twilight Collection by Stephanie Meyer. If you think you know the answer, please write your name, homeroom and answer on a piece of paper and drop off your entry in the draw box in the Library. Five (5) lucky winners (with the correct answer) will be drawn at the end of the day. Good luck and good reading!

7/8 GIRLS HANDBALL: Team practices are: Monday, December 10th at 7:30 AM C/D Gym and Wednesday, December 12th at 7: 30 AM A/B Gym. Please be prompt. Tournament Date: Thursday, December 13th. Location: OZ dome in Stittsville from 9:00 AM - 4:00 (approximately). Coach: Ms. McKenna.

7/8 ENVIRONMENT CLUB: Next meeting is on Friday. We will be making our envelopes for Milkweed seeds at that time.

7/8 ALPINE SKI TEAM: Grade 7 and 8 students interested in joining the Mother Teresa Alpine Ski Team should attend a meeting TODAY at lunch from 12:00-12:42 (special schedule) in room 201. Any student who has their own alpine ski equipment is welcome to join the alpine ski team. For more information, talk to Ms. Brady, Ms. Earle, or Mr. Steinke. A signup sheet will be posted outside room 303.

LIBRARY FINES/OVERDUE BOOKS: Students with library fines and overdue books are asked to go to the library after morning announcements.

ENGLISH DEPT. NOTICE: The English Department has 86 tickets available to see a production of HAMLET on February 20, 2008. Tickets are available to grade 12 English students (semester 1 and 2). Please see Mrs. Simpson in Rm. 300 to reserve your spot and pick up a permission form. Tickets are $25.00.

The English Department has 7 tickets available to see Macbeth on January 21. Tickets are now $25 and are available on a first come, first serve basis. Students must be registered in grade 11 English this semester. Come to room 300 to reserve your spot.

REACH FOR THE TOP: The infamous accelerated schedule means today's Round One match-up between "Sic Sempter Tyrannis" and "Ty-Pho-Zen" will take place from 11:30 -12:00. The showdown takes place in Room 200; celebrity quizmaster will be Mr. Specht. Can life be any more groovy?

YEARBOOK COMMITTEE: Even though there is an early dismissal, there will still be a Yearbook Committee meeting this TODAY at 2:05 in Room 103. Those working on layout and design must attend to complete their portrait pages. All Photographers must attend - if you haven't downloaded your photos yet, this is the last chance before the next deadline.

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLASTIC ORDERS: Now available in the library. High school students interested in ordering from Scholastic Book Club can pick up a December magazine and order form in the library.

MINI-ENRICHMENT COURSES: Students interested in the mini-enrichment courses (May 5-9) are reminded to return their forms to Mrs. McLaughlin (room 130) or Mrs. Lupiano (room 132) ASAP.

TUCK SHOP: The tuck shop is ready for your winter. New to the shop is lip balm, hand cream, Halls, and candy canes. Come and see us during your lunch.

LIVE IT UP! - There will be a meeting TODAY, during high school lunch, for all Live It Up members in the career center.

REMINDER for GRADUATES: Please sign up in Student Services for the last day of grad photos taking place next week on Thursday, December 13th. Remember to bring your sitting fee with you on Thursday. If you only want a yearbook photo, you don't need to sign up in Student Services; present yourself at the library seminar room.

TUTOR WANTED: I’m looking for a mature high school student to help my two children with their homework twice a week (1 hr - 2 days a week). The ideal candidate must be good at school and must love working with young kids. Days: Mondays and Tuesdays Hours: 5:30 – 6:30pm or 6:00 –7:00pm (your choice) Subjects: Math and English (grade 1 and grade 3). Duration: Now until April/May 2008 $$:$15/hr.
