Friday Jan. 9:  Red Maple (7/8 Book Club) will be meeting in the Seminar Room during 7/8 Lunch

Mon. Jan. 12:  - Grade 8 Games club will be meeting in the Seminar Room during 7/8 Lunch.

Tues. Jan. 13.:  - HS Animanga Club is meeting in the Seminar Room during HS Lunch.

Grade 7 Games Club is meeting in the Seminar Room during 7/8 Lunch.

The Learning Commons will be closed after school today for a Staff Meeting

Mini-Enrichment: Students participating in mini-enrichment courses are reminded to return their signed registration forms and cheques to Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130 by Thursday, January 8th. (DM –Jan 8)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Intramural Table Tennis (Ping Pong) sign ups will be at lunch in the cafeteria starting Friday January 8th. (TF Jan.12)

7/8 girls interested in trying out for the floor ball team, are to attend tryouts Friday morning (January 9th) at 7:30 in Gym AB  please be prompt. (KB Jan. 9)

Any grade 7 or 8 student interested in competing in the annual OCSB Math Olympics, please see Mr. Cloutier on Monday, January12th at lunch in room 237. Please bring your lunch!  (AC Jan. 12)

The BOYS Futsal Team is reminded of their practice on Monday, January 12th from 3-4:30pm in the caf gym. (SM Jan.12)

The GIRLS Futsal Team is reminded of their practice on Thursday, January 15th from 3-4:30pm in the caf gym. (SM Jan. 15)

Grade 7/8 Dance Club: will start Monday Jan 19th from 3-4pm in the dance studio! All dancers are kindly asked to see Mrs. Donaghy for a permission form or to obtain one from the main office this Thursday Jan 8th! (CD Jan.19)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Could everybody who is going on the Vermont Ski trip come to an important meeting on Tuesday January 13th in room 103.There are still a couple of spots available if you haven't yet paid a deposit. (AP Jan. 13)

Floorball Referees: If there are any students interested in refereeing Floorball on January 26th, 27th and /or 28th, please see Mr. Nicoletti or Mr. Quinn. (CN/TQ Jan. 9)

Rails Girls Ottawa: is a free two-day crash course programming workshop that aims at teaching girls how to make websites using Ruby on Rails. See Mr. Hallarn if you are interested in registering. (JH Jan. 14)

Math Enrichment: Reminder of our gathering today at senior lunch.  This will be the last one of semester 1.  Our next gathering will take place on February 4th. (NR Feb. 4)

Alpine Ski Team: The Alpine Ski Team will be going to Mont Cascades this Friday, January 9.  The bus will pick us up at 7 am and should return by 4 pm.  Our re-scheduled date for the Mont Ste. Marie training is now January 14th. Please see Mrs. Brady if you are unable to attend. (AB Jan. 9)

Debate: will resume in the new year every Monday after school in room 138. All are welcome to check it out and to learn critical thinking through a civilized and respectful exchange of ideas! (JS Jan. 9)

Alice’s Wonderland Cast and Crew:  Please remember to bring outstanding money for T-shirts and hoodies to Mr. Linke this week. The stage will be open before homeroom and during senior lunch. (RL –Jan 9)

The STUDENT SERVICES WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Algonquin College Open House: Saturday, January 17th, 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Ottawa Campus. Meet with professors and current students.  Ask questions about programs.  Check out the amazing facilities.  Speak with reps from our Perth and Pembroke Campuses. Course Selections For The Next School Year, 2015-2016: In preparation for Course selection for next year, all students in grade 8 - grade 11 are expected to have signed in to myBlueprint, myblueprint.ca/ocsb. You need to update your profile to include your OEN#. Your personal OEN number can be found at www.my.mths.ca. If you are having trouble logging in, see you Guidance Counsellor. (JH Jan. 30)

Saint Paul University is having an open house on Wednesday, January 21st from 4:30 pm to 7:30pm.  4 scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded.  Go to their website for more information. ustpaul.ca (KW Jan. 21)
