SHEO
Sledge Hockey Eastern Ontario (SHEO) is hoping to find volunteers for our upcoming tournament on April 8-10th at Goulbourn Recreation Centre. SHEO is a non-profit organization located in Ottawa and we are part of the parasport community based on the value of providing ice-hockey for everybody. We look to provide a safe space to facilitate the integration of all athletes together with persons facing physical and development challenges.
We are looking for people who can be runners and time-keepers for our tournament. No experience is required! It is our year end tournament with teams from all over at all different levels. Students will be able to get a new perspective of sport, while gaining some volunteer hours. I have provided a poster that is attached to the email. If you could post it and let students know about this incredible volunteer opportunity it will be very appreciated. If you have any questions, feel free to email me back at ewern015@uottawa.ca or volunteer@sheo.ca.
Ottawa Film Volunteer Opportunity
Our next festival is the Latin American Film Festival (LAFF) from May 5-13, where we will be showcasing feature films from different Latin American countries. These screenings will take place at the Ottawa Art Gallery. We are always looking for more volunteers and I was wondering if it would be possible to pass this opportunity onto your students interested in acquiring more volunteer hours? Volunteers need to be 15 years of age or older.
If any students are interested they can email volunteer@iffo.ca for more information. LAFF volunteers will also receive a free ticket for each 2 hour shift in order to enjoy the festival!
