The program aims to address rumours for senior students once-and-for-all before they enter university, while also emphasizing the importance of maintaining mental and physical wellness throughout the rest of high school, undergrad, and beyond. Interested students will be invited to participate in a 75 minute virtual ZOOM session after school. Please sign up HERE if you would like to attend.
Winter Dual Credit Program
The Dual Credit program is a high school/college initiative where high school students are enrolled in apprenticeship training and/or a college course. Upon successful completion of the college learning requirements, students earn credits towards both their high school diploma and their college education. It is also a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of the field of study as well as a college experience. This program is recommended for students in grade 11 or 12. Winter courses are scheduled to begin the week of February 7th until the week of May 17th with March Break off. Dual Credit Applications will be accepted from October 25th – November 15th. Please visit www.algonquincollege.com/ap/courses/ for courses available. For applications and/or more information, please see your Guidance Counsellor.
Win Cash Prizes:
Check out the Business Board outside of room 216 to learn about opportunities to win up to $1,000 for a short video or up to $500 for a short essay. You don't have to be a business student to win. There are other opportunities available to you as well.
Every year The Salvation Army counts on regular citizens to fill much needed fundraising positions, whether in a volunteer role or as an employee of our organization. We are in need of many volunteers for this year as restrictions are loosening and providing us with a better avenue to raise funds for those less fortunate. Please see the link below for more information.
The Sprott Student Consulting Group (Carleton University) is currently looking for students in grade 11 or 12 interested in acquiring business-related experience. SSCG will allow high school students to acquire practical experience, expand their networks and enhance their management skills. Students will be assisting on projects via carrying out research on particular topics within their abilities as well as attending online team meetings. High school students are expected to commit on average 3 hours per week. With successful completion of the program, high school volunteers will be given reference letters from their respective team leaders. Please contact Daria Ivatsik (DariaIvatsik@cmail.carleton.ca ) if you are interested in this opportunity.
